I have windows 7 and now it has started bugging me with pirated windows notifications, so a friend suggested to go for win 10 now, but I am not sure if some of my drivers will work with that, so he suggested to try VM, can any one help me in installing VM like which free/trial VM to go for and a bit of help in how to install win 10 on it so that if it works I can actually do a fresh installation of win 10.

Also if any one can help crack this win7, i tried few cracks but none worked.
Thank you.

get virtual box (its free). Install, create new virtual machine , select windows 10 allocate ram, create new virtual disk.
in the settings specify iso for windows 10 in cd/dvd rom.
start vm and go through installation.
after installation is done, click settings and select insert guest addition cd.
go into vm and run setup form cd rom to install vm drivers.reboot.
it should work.

of note, make sure you have virtualization enable in BIOS if you are installing 64-bit edition of windows.

thank you for the guidance, can you suggest any VM or i should get any, how much ram and space do I need to allocate to it, I have 8gb of ram.
I'll be downloading Win 10 from internet so can I select the installation file directly i.e iso or exe or do I need to create a bootable USB, can you guide where to look for virtualization in BIOS, i am not sure if I even have that option, I have ASUS P7H55-V motherboard.

their seems to be some confusion so I'll clear it.
in order to run virtual machine you need hypervisor. two popular hypervisors for windows desktop OS are virtualbox and VMware workstation.
if you are on win8 or later you get MS's own hypervisor called Hyper-V ( not available in your case).
Just download and install Virtualbox as it is free.
You can then create VM using it. you don't need to create bootable usb etc.
follow the link from technet blog for reference.

Step-By-Step: Installing Windows 10 on Oracle VirtualBox – CANITPRO

edit: you have P7H55 which means core series processors. Your processor will support virtualization. Just enable it in BIOS in the advanced features or look up the manual. Virtualization needs to be enabled if you are installing 64-bit VM otherwise you get error.

thank you again, i'll check the link. I'll try to find it in BIOS otherwise I guess i'll just try the 32bit, can you also please suggest which Win 10 should I try? yes I have core I5.
And if i try win 10 through insider program I guess I have to worry about the key but it'll be in beta stage as far as i remember?

edit
i checked all options in Bios but couldn't find virtualization option, i think i dont have that option, well luckily i downloaded 32 bit enterprise insider build. Though when I'll actually install then I'll need 64 bit.

btw if i dedicate say 2gb ram and 20gb to VM that means i cant use that ram n hdd space for normal usage?
