how to edit videos

Assalam everyone, i have lots of videos of me my and friends but how could i edit it and put music in background and effects e.t.c if any one can guide me or a tutorial would be nice. thank u

^ Since you're a beginner, I'd suggest starting off with Windows Movie Maker. Its teh easiest, and should help you get familiar with the timeline feature used in almost all video editing programs.

Other programs which you can try and are relatively easier to use are Cyberlink Power Director and Sony Vegas Movie Studio (a bit harder to use).

Other than that as i guess you are a new in this thing i would suggest you to use windows movie maker,its good for starters , by that you can add some cool effects including that zooming ,flashback,slide shows of your videos and etc..You can also put your music behind you video easily with WMM

Or else if you want to go professional which of course will require some time to learn, it would be Sony Vegas,final cut pro,After effects , These 3 softwares are widely used nowadays in making of intros for different companies etc and i tell you what that sony vegas was used in the making of transformers (Not all but some of its scenes) , now just imagine how powerfull this app is ..
