Hey, guys, since we are into hottest season of this year and it's one of the hottest summer ever experienced. For us, hardware enthusiasts, Controlling down the component's thermal level becomes the major concern. In this regard, Ambient and CPU cooler plays vital role in controlling the heat generated from CPU. So, I think, This would be a perfect time to share some valuable information with the community on CPU thermal maneuvering. You'd be wondering, where I am taking it to. Actually, this is very simple, just share your CPU temperature result via torture test and have some discussion on it. This thread would serve a purpose to have a thorough discussion on possible ways to reduce the CPU temperatures via multiple options. We'll be sharing CPU stress test results and talking on Cooling solutions, Thermal pastes, CPU voltages, and any other factor that influence on thermal performance.

Software you could use for torturing your CPU are as follows:
 • Prime95
 • IntelBURN TEST
 • AIDA64 Stress Test

How much your CPU to be tortured in case of AIDA64 and Prime95 Test?
Well, My testing methodology is rather simple, I Use Prime95 and run blend test for about 10 minutes. But you could use other tests as well, like the SMALL FFT and LARGE FFT both tests will generate slightly more heat and hence, high temperatures and more power consumption.

On the other hand, AIDA64 program has stress test feature which allows CPU to be tortured via typical CPU Stress test and extreme FPU load. FPU is rather extreme, most reviewers used this test under an AC environment.

**Please note, If you want to compare results with another CPU then you would need to use same version of torture test. Because every version behave differently from others, specifically in thermal scenario, like Prime95 25.11v gives you Lower temperatures while the later version let's say, 28.5v, for example will generate high Celsius.

So, Let's start with mine
CPU: i5 4670K @ 3.4GHz (1.056 voltages)
Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S

Thermal paste: Cooler Master Ice Fusion
Ambient: 38C (1C margin of error)

Stress Test: Prime95 28.5v

CPU: i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz (1.236 voltages)
Cooler: My custom 775 modded cooler from 2006
Thermal paste: HT-GY260 (1.2W/m-k )
Ambient: Not so sure but my cpu idled at 40 c and maxed at 78c in this test
Stress Test: Prime95 28.5v ( Blend test for 10 min)

Now comparing my results with nafu i think somethings is wrong with your cooler placement or case airflow. Those are high temps for a cooler like that considering my CPU has TDP of 95W whiles yours is 84W .
I would really love if someone with a hyper 212 step in this thread :)

Cooler placement is alright, I guess. However, airflow fans are off at the time when I ran this test.
So, Only CPU fan is supporting. Let me try complete airflow support.

Well, I found the lacking and it wasn't the Cooler placement, actually I forget to increase the CPU fan. Which, I later discovered, the only culprit.
Anyhow, for the comparison, I did run the Prime95 28.5v (Blend test) for 10 minutes w/out CPU fan, and you can see the results in the below screenshots.

33C Ambient.

Fan is being 30%

With 100% fan speed

I didn't try with proper case airflow, may be in the next try.

With 100% fan speed the results seem to be pretty good. Do u have any frnd with a HYPER 212 who can share its performance?

Hi I got tiny mini itx PC you can go to unboxing thread to see my PC.

I ran prime 95 test for 30 min.

CPU : i5 4460

CPU COOLER: Jonsbo HP-625. Low profile cooler.

RESULTS:: Temps mostly stayed in low 60s
