High End gaming Laptop vs mid range gaming desktop which one is better for gaming

hi guys i want to know that are top of the line gaming laptops are powerful than a mid range gaming desktop pc when it comes to performance in games and why ?


let me put it this way

LAPTOP

core i7 @ 2.6ghz (920) M, GTX 480, 8 GB RAM, I terabyte HDD

vs


DESKTOP
Core i5 (750) @ 2.6ghz, GTX 460, 320 GB HDD, RAM 4GB




which one you think will produce better results in gaming as per performance and graphics

please share your opinion because i am planning to switch over to laptop from desktop gaming i have been thinking of getting some high end gaming laptop for some days but i need some solid grounds for this

Seriously none, as none of them are Second Gen's laptop's.

First make your mind of getting a laptop or a desktop, according to that I'll recommend you something good in the same cash.

And just keep in mind that, Gaming laptop's don't even come close to the performance of a gaming desktop.

If you are comparing them on performance,desktop would win.
But i think the laptop would cost you much more than the desktop specified.
Laptops are designed to run on battery,while desktops are designed to run direct from socket so more power=more performance (Mostly)

Please post the spec of laptop correctly, I think it should 480M

Both of them will perform very similar, the laptop may very very rarely perform a bit better. say 1-2 fps

580M>= 460 > 480M

The processor matters little since i5 750 is plenty for a 460.

People seem to forget the M in i7 as well as the graphics card for laptop, weaker then desktop version....

Desktop would easily win, not to mention the power of overclocking which is not possible with laptops because of heat

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
