Half Life 2 Help

Hi Guys. Im new to this forum. So plz if this thread is in wrong section.. Mods plz move it. and lemme know where u moved :D

Ok so i bought Half Life 2 DVD from local dvd games shop today. i want to run it on my Dell D600 laptop. here are the spec.
Intel Pentium M 1.66GHz
512mb ram
60gb hdd
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 32 mb

As instructed i copied all the files from dvd to my HDD drive and run start.bat file. It started the intro in 800x600res (i have 1024x768). after hl2 intro it started loading.. but gave me this error...

"Runtime Error!

D:/.../HL2/hl2.exe

The Application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an ususual way.
Cantact Support blah blah blah."

Plz help anybody. First of all is it a hardware problem or one of the file are currupt? my guess is file hl2.exe maybe currupt?

its glad to see a pakistani gaming community really. good job.

salam and welcome to PG brother....well hl2 problem eh?! i think the files were not copied correctly cuz your system specs seem fine to me...try copying the game again or use another dvd..

first of all welcome to PG and thanks for your comments

your specs are enough to run half life 2..... i think its the problem with DVD..... have you copied the crack files etc???

i think its the laptiop things and his specs are barely minimum imo, that might be the problem.

thanks for the feedback mates. i tried copying again couple of times. it didnt worked. there is no specific crack file it just says to copy all files to your hard disk and run. it gives same error mentioned above. i'll try get another dvd from rainbow center maybe it works. who knows.

by the way if anybody have the game installed can he/she give me hl2.exe file. i think that my hl2.exe is curropt.

tried, didnt work :( looks like my ati doesnt support this game.
halo combat evolved is a close second of hl2.. i'll try that!

    So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios.     Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
