I've never seen or read anything related to Batman except for having played Arkham City. So if I start watching Gotham will I have a problem coping with the plot progression?

Firstly this should be in the TV and movies discussion section.
Secondly, no you shouldn't. Because chronologically, the TV series takes place before any of the movies since it's based on Bruce Wayne's (Batman) childhood. You might not find it as exciting since you won't be able to relate to all the characters, but still it should be worth watching.

no just watch the show, it wouldn't confuse u or anything i'd say... watch it as a good crime drama thriller
