Title says it all.

I've looked at a bunch of threads in this section, and most of you seem to think that the future is rather dismal, where as the current situation is not 'smoking hot' for gamers there might be some opportunity around the corner.

I know of some companies which are very interested in harnessing local talent towards game development related projects.

If you've got extensive experience (or better yet, a game demo) I'd be very interested in helping you guys out. From a gamer to a gamer, I'd love to see the gaming scene in Pakistan improve and I feel that there is a great raw talent available.

If you are interested (even remotely), please drop me a mail.

Or you can just PM me on the forums.
Or respond to this thread with your contact info and title info.

Make sure you reference this thread in your mail please. Kindly include your contact number so that I can get in touch with you.

No spam please ;) I assure you my offer is quite genuine and you've got nothing to lose.

I'm familiar with your work Umar, glad to see you respond.

As fun as that engine is to play around in, I'm looking for something actually playable in terms of publishing.

Have you ever built a working a game demo on top of that engine? If so, please shoot me a mail with a link.

Also, if you'd consider developing a game for release in the local market, please forward me your proposal with time-line, project idea and I'd love to get the ball rolling.

Obviously, if you know anyone outside these boards who would fulfill these criteria do point them here ;)

Nice to see some more ppl in game development! I am on just the planning stage of a major project myself! I am now feeling confident that i can go on to write the first few lines! Its basically a game engine, but its supposed to be massive!

Aye, I too am very excited about gaming going through its birthing stage in Pakistan.

I hope your project goes well, Umar.

Shane, same applies to you as the others, give me your demo when its ready (even if its a virtual tour kind of thing), I'm basically trying to assess workmanship.

On the same note, if anyone has ever developed really good web games (flash or otherwise), do contact me. We could deliver the game to the masses and give you a slice of the action ;)

Sorry about the completely unnecessary secrecy about which company I work for, but considering we haven't officially launched yet, and we are already a victim of launch hype, I didn't want to contribute to the problem :p

And here I thought my instructions were simple.

Cade, I liked the screenshot, kindly send me your contact information as mentioned in the above post. We can talk about what we can do for you.

Umar, I'm going to be calling you later today, you folks are way to laid back :p

n00bs are ok as long as they have good understanding of C/C++ and understand game development process.
Mobile platforms have some major differences, so, every one has to learn a bit.
Game engine is probably the most difficult part and once get that right, the rest ui/sound/anim can be done by less experienced people.

I need to gather a team to see if it will be possible to build a proper business/company around it.

My advice to you nemessis is get a good grip on c++ especially the oop concepts.. once you know your way around them then take an easy to use graphics engine like irrlicht and start making small 3d apps and keep learning new things.. u shud you use a pre-built engine in the beginning instead of making one yourself.. and then just move from there step by step by integrating other libraries like those of physics and sound and make yourself a game project... its definetly gonna take some time to go do this all.. and one more advice dont just try and jump to make your own crysis.. work step by step by making small games so that you have that self satisfaction as you go through that you have actually completed something :)..

rapchik killer, have you worked with open gl. Do you know how different it is to use Open GL ES.
I would really like to know your thoughts on mobile games.

I have worked a bit on opengl but not that much.. even tho i have no personal experience with opengl ES but i am almost certain that if you have made mobile games before this and now basic opengl.. then it wont be difficult to catch up.. i think a port of irrlicht engine has also arrived for mobile games using opengl ES so maybe you should give that a shot in the beginning and when you feel rit work on it opengl es itself..

and on mobile games.. i think its a nice field.. you are restricted to limited resources so its little different from full fledged game programming but its a nice experience.. and u can definetly earn some money there buy making some quick projects..
