Free Lancing queries

I'm an undergraduate student currently wasting my summer vacations, so i decided to start freelancing. Since it requires money transferring from outside i contacted HBL regarding this and they said that your account is only a current account which can only be used for transactions. We can't allow this. So please advise me what i should do as i have no source of income and they asked to open other accounts. Anyone who does freelancing and is a student please explain to me how you do it. Thank you for any help :')

I don't know how HBL operates it's current accounts but earnings through freelancing are declared as a remittance which is permitted by law.
I ve worked on upwork from time to time. They have a direct to bank withdrawal. 5$ flat fee but the money reaches in 3 working days which is convenient. No hassles involved. I have an Askari current account and it worked fine with withdrawal.

I asked the guy and he told us it's quite a hassle for us since we'd have to clear the payment every time we receive it and since you're a student you have not given us any source of income, the bank isn't notified about it and you should refrain from it and instead you should only use your account for savings. I was surprised actually. I was going to start on freelance.pk and now because of this i'm thinking if changing banks would be a solution ?

I have not personally held an account before employment but freelancing money (especially computer services) was tax free till this year and quite allowed. Freelancing websites even give you income statements and proof of employment as well as legitimacy of income(i ve received many income proofs from upwork. It's a signed document)

So you can either switch banks (UBL has the most leniancy in this regard i believe)

Or

You can work online, collect some cash in your freelancing account and then proceed to request the site to provide proof of income.

You're welcome. The most you can earn is something you decide yourself. Keep your expectations low in the beginning. You won't have a portfolio(v imp for freelance work) so projects will be hard to come by. What you can do is be persistent. I got my first job in uni when i was a student(used to use skrill back then). It took 2 months of off and on bidding. It was 50USD. You can expect around 100USD to 200USD per month. That depends on your delivery and how you handle the client. Your ultimate aim in the beginning should be your portfolio and feedback score. The income will come as a result.
One thing that was useful for me was to try and go beyond the clients expectations. Clients always appreciate it.

Though I don't work freelance but my employers are in the USA. They transfer my salary directly to my account. It takes 1 day for my bank to process it. I have a current account in Meezan Bank. The thing you need is the SWIFT code of your bank, it maybe different per city but all banks have a universal SWIFT code too which you can find out on the web too. All other details needed are probably known by you already.

Don't trust your bank reps they most likely lie about it. All banks accept international transactions.
