Lahore: Fire in PTCL office disrupts phone and internet services | Pakistan | Dunya News

Who is affected? I had my telephone line/internet down for about 4 hours, although it is restored now I am getting max download speed around 40 KB/s on an 8 Mbit connection, my normal download speed is 1 MB/s. Dunno how long will it take to completely restore the service. PTCL official says 2 days but I doubt it considering half the building is completely burnt down.

I'll leave some information here.

Edgerton exchange is the biggest in Pakistan, almost all of Lahore region and adjoining areas will be affected since A LOT of traffic terminated at this exchange. People will face disruption in service or poor service, they're shifting traffic right now to other places. Apart from PTCL, Ufone has also been affected pretty badly, other telcos also had outages because of this but I don't think they have a problem now, they shifted the load to other terminating points.

Yups checked it out ptcl evo and cloud not working aswell.. Probably worldcall or wateen could be a good alternative or wait a couple of days and see what happens

Shuker hai i didnt put 250rs in wingle..im in Shalimar town and no net since last night. Ptclcares tweeted that net will be restored at 8pm tonigh. I hope they do. Even slow will be ok.

From what I've been hearing, it'll be slow. Though something is better than nothing right

I am in DHA Lahore, both phone line and DSL went down for few hours. It's back online and I am getting full uploading speed and 1MB download speed on 4MB
