I call upon all creative minds of PG. Hey awesome people, my friends and I are going to participate in Lums Film Making Competition. And we wan to WIN IT! We'll be participating in Short Film Making and the video will be less than 10 minutes. Shoot your suggestions for the plot and execution. Just so you know, I do parkour/freerunning, in case you dont know what it is, look up on google. We can incorporate parkour in to the film too. But please give us amazing suggestion...WE WANT TO WIN.

P.S We need suggestions fast since we dont really have many days. SO yeah, looking for an awesome feedback. THANKS :)

EDIT: The story we've thought:

The film starts with the scene where the kid gets bad grades in his school exams. He gives more time to parkour. He shows his result to parents and gets scolded, so much that he has to leave parkour and continue with studies. Time passes by and he becomes an engineer. Then we show is boring professional life..getting up...getting ready for office..etc etc. Allthough he has ALLLL the luxuries but there is nothing interesting in life. One day he is at the office, where his secretary comes and tells that he has to attend a meeting. When he is sitting in the car, he sees children playing across the street. That throws him into sort of a flashback scene. To that same fight with his parents...this time we show that he explains to his parent that he loves parkour and he cant leave that but he'll try to get decent grades next time. And ends up becoming a beast at parkour and having all sorts of fun in life with enough money to sustain himself when he grows up as a parkour athlete etc etc. Suddenly, a car's horn brings him back to life. He asks his driver to stop the car...from here it turns all slow motion...he opens the car door...throws away his tie and coat and DOES AN AWESSOMEEEEE flip on the street. and then lands it...gives a little smile. and BLACK SCREEN WITH A MESSAGE ;) Whatdya guys think?

I dont think a drama touch to a parkour film will be good but I'll edit this post with some suggestions

[E]: The story revolves like this; a guy whose dream is to become a professional parkour pro, but parkour is not accepted and is considered a bad sport in his narrow minded culture. He faces many difficulties, from financial problems to getting mentally tortured by his parents. His parents want him to be something else.

The short film will basically show how we are not as free as we think of ourselves and how we are forced to take decisions that we are highly against.

Also, don't forget to add the typical exaggerated star plus drama effects. Like, it all goes "DUN DUN DUUUUN" when something bad happens.

If I were you I'd find some way to put zombies in it.

Maybe zombies shuffling and getting hit by missiles from above, some dying others getting up and shuffling on.

Think somethings there?

well most of the people who do this try to make it as funny as possible because if they can make the audience laugh,, they usually win. But I would say try something different since nearly everyone of your competitors is going to be doing a comedy movie(90%sure).. i dont know.a movie hidden real life message for the audience since people watching probably would get bored if there is nothing in the movie that the audience can relate to in real life.. not everyone is a gamer like us PGers who regularly kill zombies and aliens :p Maybe a detective movie(it will be hard since length is just 10 min)?

Yar how about showing two parallel lives.
It all begins with you loving parkour and shit, and you are average with your studies. Then one day your parents confront you and tell you to quit with your parkour and concentrate on your studies. Now from here you show two lives, in one you go for what you love (Parkour) facing loads of trouble and shit on your way and in your parallel life where you forget it and pursue your studies and get yourself forced into engineering or (whatever) and in the end when you enter your professional field you suck at it and you're not happy. in your parallel life you're like happy and a parkour champion and you're living an awesome life.

You can also make it dramatic by showing that in your Engineering boring life you're on your way home and you see a kid stuck high in a house in a fire and then you think you could have saved him had you kept practicing parkour.

Or maybe you can trash that last part but still. think about it. It'll have a message that the only path to greatness is to follow/do what you love.

make a super hero short film named PARKOUR-MAN
he comes and stops all street crimes.... :p
you can make him do all parkour stunts on "Khadam-e-Alla's" construction sites... :p

well on a serious note i read somewhere movies with sad ending leave a deep effect(or affect whichever it is) on viewers so try that.

I was thinking about nearly the same story. In the end of the life of the parkour guy, you can add that he got a contract for an action film. ;) :p
