Did you OTA to Lollipop? If so, then do a factory reset and you will no longer be disappointed.

As for downgrading to KitKat, there's two ways:

1) Download KK Firmware from SamMobile, flash it, brick your phone, do a reset in recovery, have the phone boot up and have no IMEI.

2) Download KK Firmware from SamMobile, flash it, ODIN should give you a 'FAIL' message, flash the correct .PIT file for your phone, do a reset through recovery, wipe cache and reboot.

Method 1 is risky and will screw up your phone (obviously).

Don't want to lose settings and apps? Back them up. Do a factory reset, restore the backup.
Believe me, you won't be disappointed in the 5.0 Update, it's actually great (provided you've done a factory reset and not OTA).

I'm not entirely sure if Method 2 has been tested, but that's the way I used to downgrade my S5 from 5.0 to 4.4.2

Explain more
Method 1 (explained):
Your phone is on LP 5.0.1, you downloaded a KK firmware, you flash it with Odin, it gives a 'PASS' message.
Phone doesn't boot up at all, or takes very long to boot.
You go into recovery, do a factory reset and wipe cache. After rebooting, phone has no IMEI and obviously wont connect to a network.
You need to extract the modem (or download one separately) for your phone, re-flash it through Odin (twice), reboot your phone.
IMEI should be back, if it isn't, flash back to LP, if it still isn't back, well then you're screwed cause your EFS is fucked.

Method 2 (explained):
Same scenario. However, after flashing in Odin, it shows 'FAIL' message and the log shows:
FAIL (SIZE) ext4
Your phone shows an error in red font in download mode.
Unplug the phone, press the reset button in Odin, add the correct .pit file for your phone (16GB for 16GB phone and 32GB for 32GB variant, don't mix them up), reconnect the phone, press Start.
It will take a few seconds and flash successfully.
Pull the battery (or if it's non-removeable), then hold the power button and then use the Recovery mode button combo (Power + Volume Up), wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Reboot system now, wait for the phone to boot up, and you have successfully downgraded.

NOTE: I haven't tested these on a Note 4. They may or may not work.

Method 1 has been tested on a Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) and Method 2 on a Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F).

Method 1 has low chances of working, however Method 2 may work on a Note 4.
Good luck downgrading. :)

how can you initiate the specific method.
its not in your tray to make a brick or fail the process
That's not what I meant.
Technically, the 2 methods above are different scenarios that could happen.
Method 2 is more likely to happen because it happened to Note 3 and S5.

Method 1 is for S4, but if a similar case happens where downgraded ROM is flashed with Odin, and there is no IMEI, the user can easily go and flash a modem file and see if he can recover his IMEI.

Something I forgot to mention, JAYZZY
if your phone is under contract/warranty then ignore this, otherwise keep reading.
If you're serious about downgrading, root your phone on 5.0, backup the EFS and then go ahead.

There's no official way to downgrade.
However, now that you've mentioned that it was an OTA, I can see the problem.
My S5 became dead slow when I did the OTA from 4.4.2 to 5.0
but I did a factory reset and it was perfect after that.

That's the only thing I can recommend right now, it isn't risky at all.
Otherwise, you can't downgrade 'untouched' as it will mess up your phone.

Factory reset wipes everything off the phone.
You will have to restore everything after the reset is done.

My suggestion, make a backup, reset your phone. If you have fast internet, restore the backup and enjoy the 5.0 update.

Its possible that your phone is giving you poor performance on Lollipop, and demands a Reset.

The most feasible option for you, is to ROOT your device, backup all your apps using Titanium Backup (including the system apps you wish - you can even backup all your Text Messages and Call Logs), Do a Factory Reset and then Restore everything back.

Downgrading to Kit Kat is more headache. Also you won't like the experience. Been there, done that.

The very first day I bought Note4 910C model

I flash 15 times my fone with different Custom firmwares or Lollipop and Official Lollipop as well.

Finally decided Kitkat 4.4.4 is the best yet for Note4 with good battery and performance.

Simply download Kitkat Official ROM 4.4.4 and Flash it with ODIN.

Nothing else is required as being told in various above posts do this or do that. Simply Download and Install Official Firmware. Thats all.

Beware samsung is locking bootloaders with recent updates. Check properly on internet.
I haven't heard anything about this.
Please post a link.

I thought Bootloaders were locked on American carrier devices.
