I checked gsm arena and it showed that it does support LTE but im using telenor and i see no option where to select the preferred mode.

Telenor LTE should work fine on the iPhone 5.
The cellular tab is sometimes known as Mobile Data on the iPhone. They're renamed based on the carrier used to activate the device.
