I have had many people give a confused look when I told them I would study Eco-maths. A friend of mine told me that there's no point in studying economics because most of the good public sector jobs are given to Sindhis (We're Muhajirs in Karachi). Others have told me it's just a stepping stone towards a graduate degree/studying abroad and a professional associated with the ACCA told me that he hasn't really heard of anyone with a background in Economics/Mathematics.
I do have an interest in this degree, but I have hardly ever heard about anyone else wanting to pursue this degree. It's always either ACF, CA, ACCA, BBA etc in commerce, and I get the feeling that I'm going down alone an unknown and risky path.
