Lmao @ new. Sure Necrokiller, let that thought linger in that little fantasy world of yours
Games like Crysis have some traces of emergent gameplay, but it's nowhere near on the level of the games I mentioned in the BG3 thread. I can mention more games, if those weren't enough lol.
Anyway, regarding Crysis, the game does offer freedom to approach objectives in different ways using the tools at your disposal, and, combined with the physics-based destruction, it paves the way for some emergent stuff. But these emergent elements are better realized in the Just Cause series (or even Far Cry 2)
Cyberpunk 2077 is far, far from having anything emergent. It's world is static, its physics broken af, its AI dumb af, its poor systems or complete lack thereof, its 'breadth' of poorly implemented gameplay mechanics. Just look at how clumsy and awkward the melee is in that video, for instance. Not even hiring Much118x could conceal that
More importantly, there is no meaningful interaction between its systems that can lead to emergent gameplay. The police system in the base game, for example, is so rudimentary and basic. Let's see what Phantom Liberty's so-called overhaul brings.
