Hello.I bought the Asrock b75 Pro3-M motherboard and I have a i7 2600k CPU .But the CPU is not fitting in the CPU socket of the motherboard .I went to asrock website and found out that it does support my cpu .Now I have no clue what to do .Whether to refund the CPU and get a new CPU or buy a new mobo .Or am I doing this all wrong ?

You are doing it wrong.... CPUs fit pretty easily and intuitively are you sure the processor seat is open?

The mobo manuals tells me how to install the CPU ,basically my CPU's Pin1 and it's notches are different compared what it is in the CPU socket .
Obviously, Intel has moved from pin to the pinless design on their CPU, they do not have pins on their CPU but on the motherboard socket.

This is how an Intel CPU should look like:

And this is how new motherboard socket look like (after removing the protector):

When you unlock the socket, it should be like this:

After installing the CPU on the motherboard (focus on the golden tiny mark):

Don't confuse this:

Pics have been taken from various sources, let me know if you're having trouble viewing them.

There are also many videos on YouTube, have a look at them as well.

shahzadfootball ! What do you mean by "CPU faulty"? I am just curious.

B75 chipset is LGA1155 socket and 2600k should've fit just fine.

What he means is that he damaged the CPU by installing it incorrectly. A faulty CPU would never leave the factory floor.
