cloudflare DNS -- anyone using it?

For anyone involved in making websites; he or she would know that Cloudflare.com pretty much is the biggest DNS/CDN provider for web now. They have recently launched a public DNS resolver to compete with Google DNS.

I've started using Cloudflare DNS. Their IPs are:

1.1.1.1 (don't use this)
1.0.0.1 (Use this)

--- PTCL is blocking 1.1.1.1 because they probably use this IP for their internal network. However, 1.0.0.1 works. Just put that as your primary DNS resolver. Leave the secondary DNS field empty.

The speeds of loading websites will have now become considerably faster.

They are now the fastest public DNS beating Google DNS/Open DNS etc., by a wide margin.

Have a look here: DNS Performance - Compare the speed and uptime of enterprise and commercial DNS services | DNSPerf

Thank me later.

Yea I was wondering why 1.1.1.1 wasn't working on connect. I'll try the second one thanks.

Yup, just use 1.0.0.1 as the primary DNS. Leave the second field (secondary DNS) empty.

Please share your initial website load times.

Don't forget to reboot the PC.

Or just run

ipconfig /flushdns and then clear browser history and then try.

Latest PTCL VDSL modems have disabled normal DNS settings. They only have IP6 DNS available; this does not work.

Manually needs to be completed for every device.

Does latency to DNS servers matter? I am currently using my dynamic DNS from ISP, but I recieve 130ms to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 while I recieve 40ms to 8.8.8.8 and 120ms to 8.8.4.4.

Which one should I use? Google or Cloudflare? Also does it have any effect on game ping?

Latency is a primary factor when it comes to speed of the internet. For you clearly; Google DNS is faster. Keep that.
