I'm planning on going to Europe in a few weeks and somebody there has asked me to bring cigarettes for them since they're very expensive there. Is there any restriction imposed by customs authorities in Pakistan on carrying cigarettes in luggage (not hand-carry, they'll be in the suitcases). I'm planning on carrying 10 boxes of Marlboro. I've checked the rules for Europe and they allow that much but I'm not sure about Pakistan.

afaik 4 crates are allowed. meaning 40 packs. but 4 are allowed in the case of 2 in hand carry and 2 in luggage

Normally, only 200 cigarettes are allowed which means one carton or 10 packs. Whenever I come to Canada, I always bring like 5 cartons with me or 50 packs because they are really expensive here. It usually depends upon how strict they are with checking your luggage. Over here in Canada, they are not so strict.
