Cant get 1.0 Gbps connection on same router and same cable

Hi!


I recently built an htpc and hooked it to my TV in living room which is at ground floor in my home. All other equipment including my main (sig) rig, wireless router, ADSL modem...... I have ASUS P8H61-M LE in my htpc which does have a Gigabit LAN and I am using same cables in my home all over...... I can get 1 Gbps on all of my machines except my htpc...... All cables are 6e and my htpc is connected directly to my router Cisco E3200 and everything has latest drivers.


When I manually put the speed to 1.0 Gbps, it disconnects for few seconds and then connects again at 100 Mbps..... What should I do.......??

Do this...Disable DHCP on all Routers except the Main one (its DHCP should be allowed) and then see? If the problem still persists then let me know.

I only have one router besides the PTCL ADSL model..... I disabled DHCP on PTCL modem but still the problem persist......

No bro you got it all wrong...Disable DHCP on your 2nd Router not on the PTCL Router. PTCL DHCP should be enabled and the 2nd Router that you have connected its DHCP should be disabled. Do this and then report back.

Yuppp..... Still the same...... Please note that I am able to do 1.0 Gbps on all systems upstairs and there is only one cable coming downstairs connected to my htpc, which is giving 100Mbps..... Cable is the very same like other cables in my home, I myself cut the wire and made separate cables out of a single cable...... The only difference I could imagine is that the problematic cable is a little (3-4 meter max) longer than all other cables, and this can't be the problem.......

Go to device manager then ur lancard properties then advance then linkspeed and change it 1 gbps only

Bro i have got the same NIC and i also have 1gbps router and i also get 100 mbps.....plz find urself intel based 1gbps NiC. And stay blessed

Well then obviously you are doing something wrong because I just managed to get 1.0 Gbps......

Make sure u are using the following color coding......
