Hi My 500GB WD Caviar Blue just got into a click of death.
After searching the internet for many days, I have found that actually The Read Write Head is gone.

Can somebody please tell me that from where I can find that little piece of Junk ?

Chances are that you wouldn't be able to find it. Even if you do, you'll again be using another used head to fix it.
I really doubt if anyone can change the head of a HDD.

There are many videos at youtube in which they recover the drive with 2 methods.
1) Replace the Head with a new one or from any other same brand hdd.
2) Take out the platters and put them in any hard drive of same specs.

And what guarantee does that have to work (for how long).
In HDD's, its always better to get a new one instead of taking that risk-factor.

Ya I totally agree with you. I am not after the HDD, I have already bought a new one but this one has my very important data on it. I don't wanna give it to recovery peoples because it has much private data and also the fact that they charge you minimum 5,000 for couple of GB's.

About the possibility of dying again, I don't care since my data is recovered. Although it's a piece of junk any ways, so why not try some experiment with it for the sake of Science :)

In that case, you can surely do that. If anything goes right then do lemme know, I may be able to learn from it on this one.
