I have been through many threads on this forum regarding the issue and the responses are rather generic or outdated (for example it seems like storm fiber used to be a good option but its not anymore). I'm in the Gulberg area of lahore and using PTCL ADSL(GPON is not available here and VDSL is not feasible according to the helpline) 8 mb atm. The internet never disconnects and I get 800-900 kbps downloading. The problem is with the pings, I play mainly FPS games and I need decent pings in DUBAI and EU servers and getting decent pings to these servers on PTCL seems axiomatic. After going through threads here I came to an understand that Transworld is the way to go if you are looking to play FPS games without lag but unfortunately they don't offer services in Gulberg. StormFiber does provide services in my area but my main playtime is somewhere between 8pm to 12pm for 2 hours daily and I'm a little worried about the comments stating that on StormFiber pings get messed up during that timeframe due to High load.
Long story short I need a connection with decent pings especially to dubai and (EU or SGP servers). A connection that will allow me to play FPS games without lag, packet loss or ping spikes. StormFiber is an option available to me but I have aired my concerns about the ping spikes during the hours I'm supposed to be using it, also many have stated that it uses the same PIE routing as PTCL so the move won't make any sense if pings are similar to what I'm getting on PTCL. Any help or sense of direction is much appreciated. Thank you

From your post you mention you want good pings to DU, EU and SGP, so based on that I assume you play CSGO? I used to play CSGO on TW and the pings were awesome, DU 20ms avg. EU about 120-130ms and SGP was 75-80ms which is quite nice. but since you don't have coverage in your area so CRI (jk).

Have you tried Wateen? I heard they upgraded their service a bit, not sure. You could try asking them for coverage since they don't have coverage details on their website.

2 more options would be Nayatel and Optix.

What you could do is look for ISPs in your area, contact them and tell them your needs and see who puts up to it and tells you the right information (assuming that you already know how ISP things work).

If you get any details then be sure to discuss with people here so that you can get a good insight on things before you decide.

Transworld and StormFiber both get their routes through PTCL
Lol wat

Transworld doesn't get any bandwidth from PTCL. They're completely independent and they have their own submarine cable as well.

SF gets it from PTCL and TW and so do many other ISPs.

Lol I must've hitched on that one, I had taken TW as a Tier 3 ISP along with others.

Ok same issue is here so I'm following this thread.
I am using Wateen Fiber Optic 25mbps connection at Gulberg-III near Hussain Chowk.

PUBG PC Lite is on 400ms ping. I asked Wateen Tech Guy and his reply was :-
There is no PUBG PC Lite server in Pakistan that is why you are getting high pings.

Afterwards I connected a PTCL 4G Wingle to check same and I was getting 180ms ping on same game at same time.

This is confusing.. banda kahan ja kar takkar maray ab.

Acha in India ppl are getting under 50ms on pubg pc or pubg lite. India middle east mein nahi hai kya?

These large ISPs such as PTCL are too lazy to fix routing issues. I keep on telling them that its a routing issue but all they do is port refresh or keep sending the lineman despite me telling them that no need to register complaints against my line. Back in KSA all I had to do was provide game server IPs, traceroutes and my IP to my ISP (Mobily) and they used to fix it within a few weeks and also provided me a free static IP so pings don't get screwed up again in case I restart my ONT and as far as I know I literally never had any routing issues with STC either. I used to get 55-85ms to EU and 135-160ms to East coast USA and here we have stupid PTCL struggling to provide pings under 100ms to servers within Asia.

The lowest ping between England and the US is around 110ms (rounded off)

Pings between Saudi and Europe, as per your post, is 55ms.

So the lowest ping you could have possibly gotten to the US is 165ms.

Pings between Dubai and Islamabad are around 65ms (around 25ms from Islamabad to Karachi). That means about 230ms. And the IP I'm pinging is 45.79.12.202.

Which is what I get via lg.nexlinx.net.pk (via PIE). Transworld is slower (by around 20ms).

While your Arab ISP may have peering agreements, they also had money. I won't ask you how expensive or cheap it was there, but I will say that the pings are almost what they should be. Yes, sometimes, routes are messed up but for the most part, they're not bad. And if you think you can get a better route to a CDN, then change your DNS to one from the CDN's host country.

The lowest ping between USA and UK is around 75ms. From London to NY it is around 75ms as I have watched UK streamers play on USA servers with around these pings. My lowest to USA was 135ms to some East coast server. Routing is messed up after every few months for me and it is impossible for me to get them to fix it. I mean if they don't want to fix it then why they act like they trying to help. Just say that they can't get it fixed and I can move on instead of being bothered by useless complaints.

PTCL is the largest ISP and is capable of fixing their routing issues. I have experienced pings as high as 400ms on PTCL to servers within Asia lol.

Gaming experience on PTCL is not the same for everyone. I mean we all play various games, are assigned various IP pools so some gamers experience is not good while others say that PTCL is best for gaming. In this case PTCL works fine for you, but for me it's a pretty bad experience as I play Rainbow 6 on SEAS servers and with PTCL it can get pretty bad at times and I am also unable to watch Twitch streams while Twitch streams work fine for other PTCL users.

I don't game - but unnecessarily high long bothers me. I've complained to them on their helpline that I was getting 160ms to the Dubai Fastly mirrors on fiber, but 60ms on DSL (yeah, I know it doesn't make sense). And it's evident during VOIP calls (in my case).

It wasn't until a random person on this forum offered to take our queries to the networking guys that pings got fixed. Then he vanished. And he helped because their support doesn't (no matter how many traceroutes you may show them, there's no guarantee it'll land at the right person's desk).

Heck, the same thing goes for Mobilink - complained several times, but it makes no difference to them. I've given up trying to get it fixed. Thankfully, PTCL seems to work fine for me.

These guys have the skills and knowledge to fix things - it's getting our complaint to the right person which is a challenge.

I was once able to find a support representative who was qualified and understood what I was talking about. Only wish that PTCL hire more people like him.
