Okay, now I have this $10 480p USB capture device from China. Most probably it doesn't have a dedicated sound decoder chip.

My PC detects the "Audio" part of the device as a Microphone, 8000kbps which purely sucks but what is worse is that it produces a lot of background noise.

My questions is: Is there a software to eliminate noise from a live input? If so, please name it, thanks :)

I don't want to record the sound, just listen to the noise-free sound live.

Thanks

What software are you using?

I'm guessing you selected the wrong line for the playback. You can try Line In or CD Audio but its definitely not Microphone. If the capture device has software then do install it and select the proper line.

Check this image and you'll see what I'm on about.

I'm using a TV Tuner Card, and its audio wire is connected to my sound card through the cd audio port. So I selected CD Audio as my playback in the master volume settings.

But I dont know, mine is PCI and USB capture devices are kind of different.

The best way for a solution is to go to a computer shop and ask a sales representative/Hardware-Software experts for a help. They usually have knowledge 'bout Noise removal from a Live TV, can recommend a good software to you, if there's any.

..computer shop? Sales representative? bhai...This is Canada...not techies' heaven. Local computer shop techies are noobs and chinese. Reps @ big stores don't give a shit for something that I've bought from somewhere else.

it's weird, really know some of them don't give a sh!t 'bout ur query but there are few down to earth ppl who really are there for an affirmative suggestion. if e.g. you are not keen going there then the best way is to at least try better Tech forum, consult wid experts, leave a query ... i know you are fully aware that something can pop-up out from the blue a better, solution from any member.

What is your input? Composite, or just RF cable? I'm not saying this because of cable damage but you have to type in your COuntry number in the Tuner properties if your watching analogue TV. In Pakistan you would use 92

bhai it's a usb device.

@physx: region setting is correct, it is a reported issue with this device.

@jjdoc: Laptops don't usually have Line in, it's a REALLY common thing. PC Mobos have had line in since the dawn of time.

The capture device registers as a

1. USB Video device
2. USB Audio Device.

The video part is the video capture source and same for audio.

The problem with the Audio source is that the device doesn't have a proper audio decoding chip for it so there is a background noise when the main chip is under load due to video decoding.

So ALL I NEED IS A NOISE REMOVAL SOFTWARE FOR A LIVE INPUT. Please don't start delving into the device's problems. It is a common issue with the device but at $10 this is probably the best device you can get (and maybe the ONLY device lol)

lolz... ok i got it now... I used SoundForge some years back...its professional and has too many options for modifying audio... but for that u have to extract audio first... OR in other case Corel Video studio 12 (formerly Ulead) .. It might even capture ur video directly and then u can edit its audio only.... it wont take extra time on re-encoding video if u just edit its audio....It has also got many Audio filters.... User friednly too...

well in that case u can change many settings from ur sound card control panel... Probably u r having Realtek Audio hardware... install its control panel and apply filters...
OR just google for a Professional Equalizer... i m sure there will be one with a noise suppression option...
