ATI's R700 to support DirectX 10.1

As ATI's R650 launch gets closer and closer, more rumors and official information begin to surface. This also applies for the upcoming R700 GPU, which is supposed to revolutionize the graphics card sector. The latest developments point to the fact that the R700 multi-core chip will support the improved DirectX version 10.1 (rumored to be renamed to DirectX 11).
Nvidia's G90 or G92 GPU's coming out in Q3 2008 will support DX 10.1 or to some DX 11.So save your money PG gamers and wait for thee cards...Man i m so excited

Man the graphic cards are really pushing on the gas. Which means that even 8800 isn't a good buy then.

its called tesla technology... this enables the GPU to redesign polygons... for example if there are 1000 polygons in a scene... this technology uses some techniques to read the scene and combine some polygons resulting reduced number (about 400) of polygons and thus using lower memory... this will not be named DX11, but DX10.1

@Beginer according to some,of rumors,DX10.1 is actually DX11.I did not give it myself but put it as the article showed.

nope it will be named DX10.1.... tesla is just addition to direct X 10... no need for DX11 right now...

Btw Dx11 will feature shadermodel 5.0 which nvidia is working on right now.... it has many changes if u compare with current DX10

it isn't out... some terms not which r not used in DX10 are used in various softwares (now don't ask me name of softwares)... obviously companies moves on to newer technologies, they research and make things better.
