Hahahahaha Guillermo del Toro directing Arrow? Biggest joke. Pretty sure he doesn't direct shit stuff.

Anyway, hope Amanda Waller returns. Arrow's Waller is best. DCEU's Waller is meh. I find Voila Davis to be overrated, and dull.
They should bring her back this season, and they can easily due to Flashpoint.

[h=1]Arrow: Cody Rhodes Comes to Star City[/h]

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Arrow ahead.]–
Last night’s episode of The CW’s Arrow finally saw Oliver Queen come to peace with recruiting a new team of vigilantes, and entrusting them with his secret identity. Arrow‘s fifth season has so far kept with the promise of a more grounded storyline, in the same vain as the series’ first two seasons – except for some of the mystical abilities of Ragman. With that in mind, Team Arrow has had their hands full with Tobias Church, and his nefarious plans for Star City. But, it seems like next episode, another menace will be causing havoc – and one who series star, Stephen Amell, has a history with.
In the third episode of this season, Green Arrow will have to deal with a new drug dealer in town, played by former WWE star, Cody Rhodes. What is somewhat humorous about this development is that Stephen Amell has had a bit of a feud (albeit scripted, of course) with Rhodes in the squared circle. Amell, a noted wrestling fan, even appeared at WWE’s SummerSlam PPV where he defeated Rhodes in a match. And now it appears the feud has made its way into the Arrowverse – sort of.
The CW has released a new promo (above) for next week’s episode, as well as images and a synopsis (via CBM), all of which tease the grudge match of sorts. You can see the images and read the synopsis below:
“WRESTLING STAR CODY RHODES BRINGS THE SMACK DOWN TO STAR CITY —Now that Oliver (Stephen Amell) has his new team, they are ready to hit the streets but Oliver doesn’t feel they are ready. Headstrong Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) defies the Green Arrow’s orders and sets out on his own after a new drug dealer, Derek Sampson (guest star Cody Rhodes), who is terrorizing Star City. Sampson proves more powerful than Wild Dog and it is up to the Green Arrow to go head to head with Sampson to save his teammate. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.”

The promo includes some humorous nods to Cody Rhodes’ time in the WWE, including calling him the Stardust dealer (his stage name for a time was Stardust). Of course, he will not go by Stardust in Arrow, but rather drug dealer, Derek Sampson. And all jokes aside, he looks to be a highly formidable opponent for Oliver Queen and team. Despite apparently falling to his death, Sampson is going to emerge with enhanced strength, reflexes, and heightened pain tolerance (no, he’s not Ajax from Deadpool).
While the inclusion of Cody Rhodes as the Stardust dealer in Arrow is a fun nod to his feud with Amell, the episode looks like it may operate as no more than a filler. With a season comprising 20+ episodes, Arrow, and all the Arrowverse shows, occasionally have to move away from their main plot with a one-off villain that helps strengthen side plots, and keeps the show moving forward. Unfortunately, that might mean less of Tobias Church next week, and perhaps, even less of Prometheus, who we haven’t even begun to explore.

[h=1]Arrow: Human Target Synopsis Welcomes Christopher Chance[/h]

Arrow is still preparing to feel the shakeups to the larger universe of The CW’s DC Comics TV series wrought by the outward-rippling events of The Flash season 3 premiere’s Flashpoint event, as well as the impending multi-series crossover planned with new network-partner Supergirl. In the meantime, Arrow season 5 has its own story to tell and a mission statement of getting back to the vigilante action roots that defined the series’ early success.
However, that doesn’t mean fan-favorite and all-new supporting characters won’t continue to appear on Arrow, and now we know how one new guest star will be introduced into an upcoming episode. The CW has released a synopsis for “Human Target”, which will see unconventional comics’ hero Christopher Chance (played by Jessica Jones‘ Wil Traval) return to the fold.
Recently seen in a different incarnation in the short-lived same-named TV series Human Target, the character – there presented as a private security contractor who drew attention away from potential assassins onto himself, alongside allies Guerrero, Laverne Winston and their dog Carmine – has long been rumored to become a part of The CW’s Arrowverse. Mr. Chances makes his debut as part of a potentially vital event in Arrow season 5. The synopsis for the episode reads as follows:
When Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman) captures and tortures one of Oliver’s new recruits, Oliver must turn to an old friend, Christopher Chance (guest star Wil Traval) AKA the Human Target, for help. Meanwhile, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) worlds collide when Detective Malone (guest star Tyler Ritter) joins the ACU. Laura Belsey directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Sarah Tarkoff (#505). Original airdate 11/2/2016.
DC Comics’ original ‘Human Target’

Positioned as an espionage/spy style character rather than a superhero, Chance’s presence potentially provides a contrast with the grim, increasingly more comics-inspired figure of Oliver Queen. However, the Human Target character was originally inspired by a DC Comics creation of the same name whose origins were credited to Len Wein and Carmine Infantino. In that version, his role was to assume the identity of his clients in order to draw would-be assailants into conflict and neutralize them.
How much effect the arrival of the Human Target and (possibly) his associates to Arrow will effect the new season’s main storyline remains to be seen, though fans hoping to see more “grounded” episodes amid the recently more prominent superhero/fantasy-heavy scenarios will likely be looking to this episode to deliver that particular experience. That said, it’s unclear whether Chance will be more than a one-off episode addition to this season of Arrow.

[h=1]Arrow:
Spoiler: show
Reportedly Returning in Season 5[/h]

[This article contains possible SPOILERS for Arrow season 5.]
Originally, Arrow had big plans in store for its Suicide Squad characters, with the introduction of Harley Quinn on its way at one point, and an entire TV version of the team assembled by the end of the second season. As many fans are probably already aware however, there was some interference that came in from the DC film side at Warner Bros., and Arrow‘s plans on expanding their Suicide Squad and lineup of villains was suddenly cut short, later leading to the death of Floyd Lawton/Deadshot, as well as a couple other key members in the lore.
Now, with Supergirl being able to introduce their own version of Superman though, the possibilities of other existing shows in the DC TV universe being able to possibly play with or introduce more iconic elements and characters from the DC comics seems to have opened up again. Thanks to a key turning point in The Flash this season as well, it looks like one specific, currently deceased Suicide Squad member from Arrow is reportedly going to be making a return appearance this season.

Spoiler: show
Green Arrow TV is reporting that Michael Rowe will be reprising his role as Deadshot in this week’s upcoming episode, “A Matter of Trust.” While no official details regarding the size of his role in the episode, or even how he’ll be returning are included, the report does speculate that Barry’s altering of the timelines in “Flashpoint” could have possibly kept Lawton from dying in the Arrow canon.

Lawton was a fan-favorite character when he was killed off near the middle of the third season, around the same time when most fans believe the show began to lose some of the steam from its previous, critically-acclaimed second season. Now, make sure to take all of this with a grain of salt for the time being, but if Lawton does end up returning in this week’s episode, it could just be yet another attempt on Arrow‘s part to begin going back to its roots in a number of ways, something that’s been noticeably apparent in the first two episodes of the season so far.
With Superman and now, Gotham City, both already confirmed to exist within the Arrowverse after all, it wouldn’t be surprising if Warner Bros. began to let their DC TV shows have a bit more freedom when it comes to the other characters and stories they’re allowed to introduce from the comics, especially considering the unexpected resistance that fans and critics have shown towards the DCEU films this year. Lawton’s death in season three was one of the most controversial moments of that season alone, so whether he returns in a large or small role in the season, it should be a positive moment for fans who have been waiting to see him return to the Arrowverse for the past few years.
Arrow continues this Wednesday with ‘A Matter of Trust’ @8pm on The CW.

Good episode. Last ep was good also, the training bell thingy was taken from Naruto probaby lol.

So Deadshot was hallucination only? Wtf. Don't hype up things if its not real, fuck you guggenheim.
So Cody Rhodes was pretty decent in this ep.

But still good ep. I'm liking Wild Dog. I wonder if Susan Williams and Oliver will date?

Next episode promo

Next ep looks interesting.

New episode was good. As much i hated Arrow Season 4, i have to admit Arrow Season 5 is SO FAR better than The Flash Season 3. The Flash is losing steam fast, and it needs to pick up. But then again Season 4's first 5 eps were also good, but it went all downhill after that. Hope it isn't the same case here. Just hope Olicity is permanently over, and Laurel returns sometime in the future.

Promo for next ep

Looks like an interesting ep. That assassin looks like Arkham Knight/Deathstroke

[h=1]Arrow Producer Wants More Female Villains & Huntress to Return[/h]

Now in its fifth season, Arrow has given us a hero who has faced a seemingly insurmountable number of foes that he battles each week. When Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) first began the mission to save his city, he had a particular list of villains he sought to eliminate. As the seasons have progressed, the Green Arrow has moved beyond that simple list and taken down a lot of bad guys, including Big Bads like Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).
Though the show has surrounded Oliver with plenty of strong women, including Moira (Susanna Thompson) and Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Sara (Caity Lotz) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson), and Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), the bad guys tend to be just that — guys. Despite villains like China White (Kelly Hu) and Cupid (Amy Gumenick), and women who’ve played both ally and foe like Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) and Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), Arrow hasn’t full embraced the idea of a female adversary.
That could soon change, however. As executive producer Wendy Mericle recently explained to CBR, there’s no shortage of source material for a woman with criminal intent.

“I’d really like to see some strong female super-villains on the show. I don’t know who we would want to get! There’s such an embarrassment of riches in that respect in the DCU, but that’s something I would definitely love to do. I’d like to use someone like, I don’t know, Poison Ivy, a Batman villain who would be amazing. Someone in that vein, but someone in the Green Arrow universe would be fantastic.”

Considering a Batman villain like Ra’s al Ghul has already played a huge part on Arrow, Mericle conceded that “there’s always a chance” that a character like Poison Ivy could appear if it worked well with the story. She also added that showrunners really hoped to bring Huntress back, and would be open to a transition for her from violent vengeance to a place on Team Arrow.
“We would love that! She’s fantastic. But again, it’s always about whether it’s right for the direction or whether it’s right for the story at that point in the series, so we’ll see.”
Huntress, aka Helena Bertinelli (Jessica De Gouw) first appeared back in season 1, as a mysterious woman on a mission to kill her mob boss father in retaliation for the murder of her fiance. She and Oliver had some serious chemistry together, and she was an intriguing character who never quite got her due on the show. It could spice things up for Oliver quite a bit if the Huntress returned as a violent temptress teetering on the edge of redemption, something like Elektra in the Marvel/Netflix TV series Daredevil.
For those who would prefer to see Oliver face off against a more ruthless and unambiguously evil female villain, Poison Ivy (who can currently be seen in her early days on Gotham) would be a good choice. Fans of Arrow might also be relieved to finally get a new character that isn’t an archer. Let us know in the comments if you’re hoping for Huntress, Poison Ivy, or another character in the DC universe.

[h=1]Arrow Producer Says Green Lantern ‘Could Never’ Be On the Show[/h]

Arrow started off as a show that was meant to be a gritty street-level crime drama that lacked any superpowers. That changed when The Flash was introduced. From there, two more shows spawned in Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, forming an interconnected DC Universe on TV. The decision to bring superpowers into the mix has allowed the showrunners to broaden the proverbial sand box they can play with; introducing characters like Firestorm, Vixen, and many others for the first time in live-action. Though having a wide range of superpowered DC characters to draw from for the shows, some characters appear to be just out of reach to use.
One of the characters that is so often hinted at in the Arrowverse, but has never physically appeared on screen, is Green Lantern. These references have included Ferris Air, Coast City, a news report of an Air Force pilot having gone missing, and even a man in a bar wearing a flight jacket that bears the name tag with ‘Jordan’ on it. The most recent example is the introduction of the character of Obsidian in season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow a character who in the comics, is the son of Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern.

Speaking on the subject of Arrow character Susan Williams – who is from Coast City, a key part of the Green Lantern mythos – with CBR at Arrow’s 100th episode celebration, executive producer Wendy Mericle delivered the final nail in the coffin on Green Lantern ever appearing on the show:
“One of the fun parts of the show is that you can put these characters in and the Easter eggs and the fans that know this universe so well respond to it on varying levels of excitement and whatnot, but the thing about her character that’s so intriguing is that it operates on that level. It also operates because she’s someone who’s very intrigued by Oliver, who’s going to uncover some secrets that Oliver has, which is going to be really fun, and is a fun nod to the Green Lantern, who obviously we could never bring on the show.”

This is sure to be disappointing news to fans of Green Lantern, who would love to see a great representation of the character – which many felt was not achieved in the 2011 film of the same name, starring Ryan Reynolds. It is worth noting however that recently Lance Henriksen, who plays Obsidian on Legends of Tomorrow, gave an interview where he did confirm that his character will in fact be the son of the Green Lantern on the show:
“It’s all in there. It’s all in there, every bit of it. Yeah, being Green Lantern’s son and all that stuff and him being gay is all in there.”
Based on Mericle’s comments, it’s possible that Alan Scott will be referenced only by name as his father, without ever identifying him as the Green Lantern. Still, Mericle did offer a tiny glimmer of hope of things possibly changing one day in regards to the character making a television debut – when reminded of how far the DCTV Universe has come over the years. With the 100th episode of Arrow introducing an interplanetary and inter-dimensional threat this year, Mericle admitted:
“This is 100% true! I mean, really Season 6 and on, all bets are off, right?”

Of course, Geoff Johns wouldn't allow Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim to get their hands on Green Lantern, after screwing up the 2011 movie. Didn't Guggenheim also got the oath for Green Lantern wrong? Ryan Reynolds had to fix it himself.

‘The Walking Dead’ Actress Juliana Harkavy Joining ‘Arrow’

Juliana Harkavy (“The Walking Dead,” “Constantine”) is joining CW’s “Arrow.”

Harkavy will have a recurring role as Tina Boland, a detective formerly of Central City. Boland is brash yet tactful, tough, speaks her mind, and is not the easiest person to impress. She also has a problem with vigilantes like Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and his new team of recruits: Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Artemis (Madison McLaughlin), Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and Ragman (Joe Dinicol). Harkavy’s character will join in the back half of the season.

The fifth season of “Arrow” has taken Oliver back to his more violent tendencies, seeing him start to kill again. Those homicidal urges, along with his training of a new wave of vigilantes to flood the streets, will no doubt be a source of friction between him and Boland.

This isn’t Harkavy’s first time playing in the DC universe: She had a guest spot on NBC’s “Constantine” in 2014. Harkavy also played Alisha, a former Army Reservist and member of Caesar Martinez’s group, in Season 4 of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”

Harkavy is repped by APA and Brevard Talent.

“Arrow” airs on the CW on Wednesdays at 8/7c.

She's hot. Hopefully Oliver's new love interest, and puts an end to Olicity.

[h=1]Arrow Producer Teases Potential Guest Appearance from The Question[/h]

Arrow is back and in full swing, with a whole new team of vigilantes joining Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in season 5. This season sees Artemis (Madison McLaughlin), Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Ragman (Joe Dinicol) and Mr. Terrific (Echo Kellum) training in the Arrow Cave alongside Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), and they aren’t the only new faces in the show this year. The show is also introducing us to several new villains (to balance out all these new vigilantes) including Prometheus and Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman).
Now executive producer Marc Guggenheim has teased the introduction of yet another new character – and a visit to a new city straight from DC comics.

Today, Guggenheim posted a photo on Twitter of what looks like billboard art for the series. The image shows what looks like a run-down city, with the words “Hub City Prime Development Potential” across the top. In smaller print below, the ad reads “Will suit all buyer groups, gives owners the chance to build around their needs and provides developers or investors with the ability to purchase, develop and lease out of a fresh and creative commercial space in the country’s most sought-after city. Don’t miss this amazing once in a lifetime opportunity!” The ad is sponsored by the fictional WWB (World Wide Broadcasting) ‘All news, every day’ radio station, and below the image we can see that this billboard will be appearing in episode 11 of this season. Guggeneheim captioned the tweet with “Headed out of town…”
Headed out of town... pic.twitter.com/bxVsRBu8iV
— Marc Guggenheim (@mguggenheim) November 1, 2016
The assumption is that this image means Team Arrow will be headed to Hub City for some reason – which means that they may well be running into Hub City’s most famous resident: The Question. The alter ego of investigative reporter Vic Sage, The Question is a non-powered vigilante who investigates crime and corruption in Hub City. Renee Montoya later took up the mantle of The Question after Vic Sage died.
It would be fantastic to meet The Question in live-action, and his appearance has been rumored in the Arrowverse since Hub City was first mentioned. A fan-favorite, The Question fits in perfectly with this season’s return to a more grounded (and less magic-heavy) storyline – like Oliver (and the rest of the new team), Vic Sage is a hero through his training and dedication, not because of any superpowers.
He’s also a darker, grittier character (and was the inspiration for Watchmen’s Rorschach), and one that may well be able to provide Oliver and company with some useful information about street-level and gang crime in Hub City. Given that Tobias Church is also connected to Hub City (he served time there before uniting the crime lords), the Green Arrow could be headed to Hub to try and learn something about Church’s plans… and who better to ask than a vigilante investigative reporter?

Of course, we may visit Hub City without The Question making an appearance at all – and it wouldn’t be the first time. In season 4, Oliver journeyed to Hub to meet Esrin Fortuna (Gabriella Wright) and ask for her help in fighting magical foes. Perhaps Team Arrow returns for her advice about another supernatural matter?
Roy Harper also spent time in Hub City under an alias, and the team could be searching him out there. In addition, Hub City is where Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee) lived when they were stranded in the ’50s – it’s hard to see how this could be connected to Oliver’s current situation, but it’s possible that this could be a reason for their visit as well.
It’s also not the first time that a city with a famous resident has popped up in the Arrowverse without that resident – Coast City (home of Green Lantern) and Keystone City (home to various Flashes) have both appeared as Arrowverse Easter Eggs. While we would love to see The Question, we’ll have to wait until the eleventh episode airs in January to find out if he’ll be joining the Green Arrow.
Arrow ‘Human Target’ airs Wednesday @8pm on The CW.

[h=1]Arrow Casts Lexa Doig as Talia Al Ghul[/h]

Arrow, the show that spawned The CW’s sprawling DC shared universe, is now in its fifth season and closing in on its 100th episode. Oliver Queen a.k.a. The Hood a.k.a. The Arrow a.k.a. The Green Arrow has been through a lot of adventures across those episodes, both in the present day and in the series’ ongoing flashbacks, and some of his most notable adventures have involved the al Ghul family.
Already Arrow fans have gotten to know Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) and Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law) very well, but now another member of the infamous family is set to join Arrow in season 5. CBR reports that Lexa Doig (Continuum) has been cast in a recurring role as Talia al Ghul, Nyssa’s half-sister, and will make her first appearance in season 5, episode 10, “Who Are You?” According to The CW’s official description of her character, Talia is “an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.”
Talia al Ghul has already appeared in the Arrowverse, though not in Arrow; a season 1 episode of Legends of Tomorrow, “Left Behind,” featured Talia as a child (played by Milli Wilkinson), and also saw Nable reprise his role as Ra’s al Ghul. The most famous on-screen portrayal of Talia al Ghul to date is in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, where the character was portrayed by Marion Cotillard.
Talia al Ghul (Milli Wilkinson) in Legends of Tomorrow

Speaking in an interview last year, Arrow‘s executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that he and the other showrunners were happy focusing on Nyssa’s story arc, and that “if we ever think of a reason to have a Talia or whatever incarnation we decide to do, it would be in service of furthering Katrina’s story.” This means that the arrival of Talia al Ghul could also signal Nyssa al Ghul’s imminent return to the show (Law hasn’t guest-starred since season 4).
A recent report claimed that neither Talia al Ghul nor her father are set to appear in any of Warner Bros.’ currently planned DC movies, so fans of the character who don’t already watch Arrow should consider doing so for this season, since it will be the only place to find a live-action take on Talia for the foreseeable future. The character has been around in the comics since 1971, where she has been romantically involved with Batman and also has a child with him, Damian Wayne, who eventually took up the mantle of Robin.
Arrow‘s next episode, ‘Human Target’ airs Wednesday @8pm on The CW.
