You have to apply atleast SIX months before your session starts since visa generally takes three months. So yeah. Select a university and it's course. Check out it's requirements, complete all documents, and apply. The university can take 1.5 to two months to respond. After that you will have to apply for visa. I would advise you to hire a good consultant and start preparing for the visa as well, because it requires you to show sufficient funds and their sources, etc. So yeah there you have it. I myself am applying for masters. I was late, so even though i got the admission for September, I am deferring my admission to January as I won't get visa in time for September. Best of luck.

Bro you don't really need SAT to get admitted in most of the Universities .... you will also require TOEFL or IELTS.
I have posted the procedure for US f1 visa on this thread... I am not sure if canada has same/similar process but it might help you.... Plus US is way better than Canada in almost all aspects. Now since the time for fall admission has passed, you will need to apply for Spring 2013. many universities accept students in Spring semesters... The admissions will open in September or October. Its always better to apply sooner because many students don't get their Visa on time and they have to defer their admission in the next semester but I know a few people (including my self) who got their passports with Visa stamped within 10 normal days. for Me it was just 6 business days.
