So far I got proposals from TCS and M&P. Volume is low because its a start up. But their rates are sky high - especially if you're selling low profit margin items. After including taxes and fuel adjustment charges, the cost per shipment is 200-250 and 300+ if you exceed 0.5 KG. Anyone got any suggestions to get cheaper COD service?

Just put the costs on the customer.

I thought about that but that'll make the total price of the product for the customer much higher than my competitors' prices. Won't work in my case.
There are smaller courier services as well. If you order from these Facebook pages, they usually don't use TCS or M&P, they'll use cheaper couriers like Leopards or CallCourier, I've never heard of it before but my mom has ordered a few things off of Facebook and they're delivered by CallCourier as COD shipments.

Here's the link: Home - CallCourier

I've used Leopards for shipments but not COD. Their customer service is shitty, though. Never picks up the phone. I've been trying for days to get their COD rates, lol. I checked out CallCourier - pricing are only slightly lower than TCS but their Facebook page raises red flags. Check out the reviews. Hundreds of 5 star reviews posted from 18th July to 30th July, and all written very professionally (also a red flag). Makes me suspicious of their service.
