Hi there people. Has anyone got any luck with AdSense in Pakistan for their website or blog? Do we have some AdSense boys here? I'm currently running a website and I'd like to earn a cent or two with AdSense, so can someone please guide me the process?

Important things that I need to know are:

  • if my account is approved and let's say I managed to earn $500 in a couple of months, will they send me some sort of cheque?
  • what legal documents do I require for identification/verification?
  • any other tips/suggestions are more than welcome

Last I checked they were not approving accounts from Pakistan anymore, I've one and I use it on my blog and other platforms, I had it for like 8 years now, back then they got approved quickly. They don't ask for any legal document other than your name, address, cellphone number and so on. Make sure it matches the one your CNIC. To cash the payment, either you can choose Western Union or Cheque, I choose the former as it's easy to get it cashed through MTCN. There's also something called payment threshold which is $100, you must reach it to get your payment.

Very useful information. So let's say I reach their payment threshold and I choose the Cheque payment method, what's the MTCN you talk about? Kindly tell me the whole procedure of cashing the Google cheque. Thanks a lot, bro!

I've never used the Cheque option, so I'm not privy about how it works. I do know that it takes time to reach Pakistan as it's a physical thing they mail you. As for MTCN, it's a Western Union's Money Transfer Control Number (like an Easy Paisa code, google it) which Google emails you once you reach the threshold, it's very quick and easy. You just go to a Western Union branch with it, and they give you the money after verifying in 5 minutes.

Excellent. So, let's say I want to withdraw $100 and Google sends me the MTCN, is there any fixed amount of percentage or some service charges at WU? You've been a great help man. Appreciated.

No charges, you get $100 equivalent of Rs. at current exchange rate. You're welcome :)

Edit: Let's say if the address that I submit during the AdSense application form does not match with the address on my CNIC, can Western Union hold my payment? Do Western Union check the payee name & MTCN or the address as well?

That I'm not sure about. What I'm sure about is that the address must be in Pakistan though for Western Union to give you your payment here. In other words, a MTCN sent to a person in Pakistan by Google will only work in Pakistan.

Edit: They do check Payee's name and match it with the CNIC, as for the address as I said I'm not sure about. They ask you to provide your original CNIC, but I'm unaware as to what they do on their internal form and computer system with it. I hope this helps.
