a small question regarding Windows installation on a laptop

hey guys i want to install win 7 on my laptop but there are basically 2 types of windows available... x86 and x64????

which one should i install and which one is better and WHY?

if you have a processor which is 64-bit compatible (referred to as x64), then install the x64 version as its faster ... if not, then install the x86 (32 bit) version ..

The technical reason as to why x64 is better is beyond the scope of this discussion, but generally speaking it allows your processor to 'process' more data at the same time ..

if you have responsive laptop
you can use x64 version of win7
otherwise x86 is good

it depends on the amount of RAM ur system currently has, if u have 4+ GB of ram u should go for x64 as 32 bit (x86) os don't use more than 4GB of ram, note that 32 bit apps would work fine under 64 bit environment. further more processors after early pentium 4s already support 64 bit instructions, so i don't think processor support would be an issue

4GB ram won't support x86. It won't recognize it. Go with the x64.

It'll recognize it but from 3GB to 3.3GB maximum due to limitation on x86 platforms.

guyz with reference to the topic , i have a question "i have a laptop which comes with win 7 64bit home premium but you know usually now days windows are pre installed in the laptops and there is no DVD of win included in package; so if i want to refresh or install a fresh copy of windows , how or from where can i get the setup " i do have the original key " but i dont want to download via torrents or the fake ones (pre activated or any shit) "

posting links here ae not allowed. Try googling "direct download links for windows 7" , check link from mydigitallife forums!
and while downloading from torrents (if u want to) do read some comments about torrents before starting download

Yes, you can download from mydigitallife forums use keywords "windows 7 official download links" Google will link you to there.

Things to consider first,

• Those ISO will be official (by official I mean, untouched, unmodified, fresh, fresh).
• Avoid links given by other sites.
• Avoid pre-installed service packs (pre-installed means modified) as you can do this by yourself later on.
• Verify the CRCs to avoid troubles while installing.
• You can use your "legit key" during installation.
