3RRoD - Need some explainations

Err Hi, I also got a 3RRoD on my 360. I just need to clarify a few things beofre loosing all hope and going for anew one...

1. My 360 Starts fine. Displays the Dashboard without any problem.

2. All the Movies and non gaming related stuff works fine. Have tested for hours without any problem.

3. The Game Loads without any problem.

4. But 4-5 minutes into the Game the 360 Starts displaying 3 Red rings and Shuts Down.

5. At first i thought it' could be heating issue i let it cool down but it always does the same, but only in 4-5 minutes while playing the game, otherwise it keeps running smoothly. And I am playing with my AC on. So i guess heating should not be the issue.

6. Can this problem occur because of low voltage or a poor stepdown converter ?

Advanced apology to the mods, if i wasnt allowed to make a new thread about 3RROD. Please dont rip my soul for this one...

Check the error code when the ring of death appears. That should help us diagnose the problem better.

Please be gentle, and there is no error code displayed the screen just blacks out.. display is gone... and 3 rings start flashing... until i shut it down manually...

theres a hidden error code, u can check it by Pressing and holding the SYNC button aKa small white button , and then press the DVD EJECT button !! The lights should start to flash, press it four times, each time they will flash in a different pattern ! 4 lights = 0 1 Light = 1 2 Lights = 2 3 Lights = 3

OK, i checked the codes here is what happens. I get the 3 Rings and console shuts down. When i pressed the buttons like you said The Lights flash in this sequence.

1st = All 4
2nd = All 4
3rd = All 4
4th = Only One(The Upper left one)

Help me out here man, what does that mean and what should i do next

Edit: So i did some searching of my own and apprantly Code 0001 is a straight power supply problem. Which means that there is something wrong with my converter, right ? And i dont need to panic and i just need to change my stepdown converter... right ? Please tell me my 360 aint dead...

Yeah dude ur 360 aint dead if its 0001.Maybe ur power supply is faulty.Try changing it.

OR if its not the power supply prob then call an electrician to come to your house and check everything out and try get a voltage regulator and a filter.

But i think a new PSU will fix the prob for sure.

If it was a PSU problem then the console wouldn't have started at all. Yours plays dvds. Dunno this is a strange case.
