I've tried to help you enough times. You must understand your questions do not have a clear cut answer in any context. You can compare the two cards by doing a google research, i'll have to do the same. I don't know how long it'll last since I can't see what type of games are coming out in the future and what they're requirements would be. Generally, the trend shows that yes 9800GT at 1024x768 will last a year or two. Pleeeeeeeeeaseee get yourself a rig like I recommended last time coz they way you're asking these questions, you'll get no where.

very easily at 1024
if you want to play at 1024 then 8600gt type card is also good for you but can last for 2 years while 9800gt easily hold your pc for 2-3 year

yar buy any 9800gt with real specs having 112 shaders, like inno3d, evga, leadtek, palit etc, they all have same performance, and GTS250 is i think 15-20% faster than 9800gt

v had long discussion on it, i told u that no1 can assure you how many years, i hope that E6300 may be sufficient upto 6~8 month then u need to switch to quad core, while GTS 250 may be enough for 8~10 moths at this resolution
to overclock, u should have capable motherboard and PSU

All games, for the larger part, depend upon the GPU.

Yes you will be able to enjoy gaming @ 720p with the given specs for a good amount of time. And since youre planning to change GPU later, you need not worry.

Dunno, an year maybe. But if you want to know the exact no of years, you should get in touch with a psychic.

No one can predict how fast technology will move forward. Hence the question 'how many years will this give me xx frames' is just plain stupid. Word of advice: stop asking this question.

Yep, 40+ frames. Without AA or in some cases 2x or 4x AA.

GTA4 maxed out would give me 20-30 FPS. I had to lessen the draw distance to achieve a playable 40 FPS.

Yep, except for GTA4. All other games run fine @ 1440 res.

V-Sync limits the frame rate to you LCDs refresh rate. Depending on the hardware, yes the FPS can go very high without V-Sync.
