  • Riight. Well, that's just my role here. Still, you should be bolder and not so sensitive. It's obvious that ppl were trying to take on you. Should've talked back nicely or something.
    yar why r u sorry?
im just saying it doesnt matter if u speak gud English or not
You don't necessarily have to buy a HD TV in order to play GTA IV....however, I must tell you that the visuals look a LOT better in HD....not that they look bad in SD, but HD makes everything look much sharper and crisper....a cheaper solution for getting HD quality visuals is to buy an LCD monitor that at least supports a resolution of '1280 x 720'....I've done the same myself....got a Samsung LCD monitor (model: Syncmaster 940bw) for Rs. 15,000 around 2 years ago....should be even cheaper now....its max output resolution with the PS3 is 720p, which is HD
Nope, an SD TV doesn't have an HDMI port....it only comes with an RF socket and an A/V composite lead (comprising of a yellow, red, and white socket)

Yup, you can definitely play GTA IV on a SD TV....but the region of the game and your console have to match....you might have heard that PS3 games are region-free....that's only true if you're going to play on a HD TV....you see, the difference between NTSC and PAL has to be taken under consideration when playing some PS3 games on a SD TV....if your PS3 is NTSC, then your game must also be NTSC....the same goes for PAL....so before buying GTA IV, make sure that you verify this
Well you have an old TV and the resolution would be 640*480 at most. CRT are the old monitors, Plasma are also like LCD and support HD but are not that common in the market. I would suggest that you go for the LCD TV supporting 720p or 1080p.

Since you're buying a PS3 then you should get an LCD supporting High Definition =HD as well. You couldn't have asked this question at a better time. Nowadays there is a special offer on the 32" Samsung Series 3 LCD TV which is for Rs. 49,000. Its supports 720p which is good enough for you.

Please note that there are different series in the Samsung LCD TV. Series 6 has the most features but it is the most expensive as well. Its up to you how much you want to spend but the offers are available on series 3 and 4 only at the moment.

If you're considering 1080p then you need a bigger budget. Something like 1-1.5 Lac would do and the best available option is on the 42" LCD TVs.
As for your second question, an SDTV is a television that only supports one basic resolution....480i....the 'i' stands for 'interlaced', which means you can see that the screen is made up of several horizontal and vertical scan lines....an LCDTV is a television that uses liquid crystal technology to display the output screen....its basic resolution is 480p....the 'p' stands for 'progressive', which basically means that there are no scan lines as found in 480i televisions....a CRTTV is a Cathode-Ray TV, which is the standard monitor used with PCs....it can display in High Definition (HD) depending on its screen resolution....as a standard, any screen that can output at a screen resolution of at least '1280 x 720' or 720p is HD....hence, a TV, CRTTV or LCDTV can all be considered HDTVs if they support a resolution of 720p or higher

Feel free to ask if there's still any query
    Salaam Noman,

Depending on the screen size, Sony Wega TVs usually support 480p, 720p, and 1080i resolutions....so your TV could be HD, but as the model is around 10 years old, I couldn't find the exact specs on the internet....what's the exact screen size?
    hmmm lemme chck........
