None of this makes Horizon Forbidden West a bad game. It’s a great one with a beautiful world, a unique aesthetic, and an intriguing story. I loved my time back in its world enough to want to see more of its tantalizing future. But within the context of 2022, there are areas where Guerrilla Games has to tighten up the experience. The ship sails, but there are small cracks in its facade. It’s running at a full sprint, but you can feel the knees buckling every now and then. That might be less of a problem when you’re running the race alone, but when compared to significant competitors, especially those that have already come before it, you can’t help but notice the stumbles.

8/10
Pros: A huge range of things to see and do, with versatile combat options, varied mission design, and even some decent puzzles. Excellent graphics, from both a technical and art design perspective.

Cons: All the individual gameplay elements have been seen before in dozens of other games. Disappointingly dull script and characters. Mediocre AI.
Yiiiikes!! 🤣

As an action-adventure, an RPG, a narrative, and open-world sandbox, and a way to simply spend time exploring a breathtaking world – it falls short. Engaging at times, thrilling too, but also disjointed, clunky, and unfocused in ways we didn’t expect.
7/10

The example of difficult second album syndrome that most readily came to mind while I wandered these wastelands is the Stone Roses, who spent almost five years trying to outdo their era-defining, genre-defying debut only to emerge with a bloated classic rock retread that effectively ended the band’s career. That’s not to say Horizon Forbidden West is gaming’s ‘Second Coming’ – but it’s not the second coming of gaming either.
6/10

Horizon Forbidden West fails to live up to its predecessor in just about every way. While the world and its many new machines are stunning, the experience is bogged down with confusing design choices and variation for the sake of variation - making Aloy's newest adventure one to forget.
6/10

#HATAO 🤣

Ironically, both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West are Sony's highest rated open world games. 🤷‍♂️

All their first party studios have yet to make a higher rated open world game :ROFLMAO:

So according to CerebralTiger, Insomniac's and Sucker Punch's games lack cinematic splendor and have lower production values? 🤔

Too late to parkour your way out of that one, sadly. Since CerebralTiger himself was relying on its score to compare to another single player game from Poland. 🤷‍♂️🤣
