Well, Fallen Order always had some issues in terms of asset streaming, causing hitching and stuttering. This is something that happened on all versions of the game, even on the PC version, and it's interesting to see that in the 60fps modes, there are still some problems here on all systems.

But that quote is from an old article that talks about the backward compatibility patch, and not the PS5/Series X versions that were recently released

But the gif is from the most recent version and nothing has changed. There are even some "streamable" clips showing asset streaming issues in cut scenes as well.

And let's not even consider that it may be a low effort port like Metro Exodus, where the new IO related APIs weren't even touched

First evidence was the latest video from the trusted VGTech. The gif shows the stutter when entering a new area. Can't help it when people choose to disregard it at their own convenience

Low effort or high effort port, people playing it now are experiencing stuttering even on native PS5/Series versions

Went through the VG tech analysis video, and it looks like the gpu is being stressed here by the character interacting with the water. Had it been I/O related, the Series X and S would've exhibited similar drops in performance

All three platforms exhibit the same issue. They pretty much coincide. Even in this instance you pointed out lol

Even if you argue that the vertical line represents when the drop in performance manifests on-screen, it wouldn't take like 3 seconds for that to happen

Regardless, the Series S drops into the 40s, despite having the same IO config as the Series X
