The F8 exchange has the equipment for it, Fiber cabinet may be an old ONU and not an MSAG, or other reasons for their stubbornness. A letter to PTA however, may solve your problems. Try that out.

The F8 exchange has the equipment for it, Fiber cabinet may be an old ONU and not an MSAG, or other reasons for their stubbornness. A letter to PTA however, may solve your problems. Try that out.

Means there is still no transform packages at Chiniot Bazar and Millat Town exchanges. It is surprise for me that Chiniot Bazar doesn't include in the list because Chiniot Bazar exchange is a place which serves old the Famous Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) and 8 Bazars which is main commercial hub of the city.

From where you get this list?

Those are the list of exchanges, last updated, not more than 2-3 weeks ago probably.

Looks can be quite deceiving. I have two cabinets in my area, one is light blue-ish, and the other one looks exactly like the one you've posted. One is the newer MSAG and the blue one is the older ONU.

Khair, I don't doubt that it's an MSAG, you just need to be really persistent and get in touch with the right people to get a VDSL line.

Brother is this an Alcatel MSAG I have the same one in my area and it doesn't have a VDSL card or should I say the exchange staff says it dosen"t have one.

Guys i have a few questions regarding the transformed packages, in my area only copper connection is available, after a long time ptcl has deployed a new cabinet which according to the exchange person is a fiber connection cabinet for us, so my question is that this new cabinet will be able to provide us transformed package with fiber wire or we need vdsl connection specifically for the transformed package? And can anybody elaborate what type of connection do these transformed packages work on?

Same case in my area and the SDO kept blabberin about the fiber availability in my area and tht i should upgrade to 100mb package. So i upgraded to 50 and net got ****** big time. Turns out those cabinets tht they claim to give fiber capability can hold upto a max of 20mb connection. Still do share ur line stats here. If ur snr ratio is gud then u can go 50 or 100mb connection. Otherwise 20mb max, transform or no transform.
Transform packages can work on both adsl and vdsl. But better to get changed to vdsl and make sure ur exchange has vdsl modems before u shift to vdsl. Coz once u get shifted to vdsl u cant go back to adsl in case they dont have vdsl modems.

They have installed a new cabinet near my house and i have got a VDSL connection installed now but thats the normal one. I am waiting for transformed packages at my exchange so that i can upgrade to 20Mbps connection

Anyone experiencing a sudden slow down in speed?,I just got a new tripple play 8 mb connection and after working fine for a day,the speed now has been reduced to 0.5 mb,is this kind of thing normal with ptcl?
