It's done!
They were closing the center and in a rush, but I waited. While I was waiting for my change, 4g got enabled in between.
So here's the thing: I was told by the helpline that my SIM was 4G enabled, and that my number was also 4G enabled. Apparently, my SIM was only 3g enabled, but my number had 4G activated on it. They gave me a new SIM, charged me Rs. 100 cash, and activated 4G from their screens.
The screenshot above is the signal strength whilst I was at the entrance. You can see it says 410 01.
I decided to do a speed test (I'm right opposite Shahnawaz Motors), and this is what I managed to get (signal strength: -69dB and -71dB):
Look at the download rate on the top right corner - downloads peaked at 2.2MB/s. It was hovering around 1.4-1.7MB/s.
That's almost the same as 3G. But then, I'm outside the building.
