super can be canceled when u r in HD mode and one thing super can only be canceled into NEO MAX and not into special move

and 2nd thing cancel and counter are different things ...

yah kyo is really strong infact one of the strongest in the game along with king and hwa and easily a top tier of the game

KYO,K',CLASSIC IORI,ELISABETH,TAKUMA,these characters are merciless man,elisabeth should be a specialist third character,she has good frame traps,and almost every anti air hit juggles into her super,wtf.
kyo and k' has great offense and easily have damaging and easy combos,classic iori is supreme of them all,great defense and great offense as well,his ground and air normals are awesome a dp which cancles into neo max and super,takuma is like sagat for me,has great jump CD,he is a great zoner and has very damaging combos,all in all this game is awesome,everyone is extremely useful against anyone in the game,matchup wise i think this is the best part so far in kof series...but...i have not yet tried billy kane,something to look forward...plus i am extremely happy the slide characters are now more punishable and there is no chris.....

Ordered the game off of Play-Asia and it was actually the version with the soundtrack!

I was lucky 'cause there were only 2 left when I ordered it. Everything just suddenly fell into place when I saw it as I had recently been asked by my aunt to get something for my birthday.

Before, I'd been looking for the soundtrack version for weeks! Although, I fucked up the post-code by one digit and that might cause some trouble even though the rest of my address is alright. D:

I also had a chance to play the PS3 version at this Sony shop last night. The game was fun as hell, of course, but it looked rather... Ummm, TERRIBLE. =\ I asked a salesman whether it was being run on HD with an HDMI cable, and he said yes. I was thinking to myself, "Have I not been paying attention to the details in all the videos and stuff? I imagined this game looking a lot better!" I don't know, maybe it was just the TV or something (even though it was a pretty legit-looking Sony LCD). Guess I'll know for myself when my copy arrives, but what I saw there were definitely substandard graphics compared to the likes of SSFIV, UMvC, and BB. Can anyone fill me in on this? Also, sucks that K' doesn't have his F+B anymore! D: Close Stand D xx F+B xx QCB D was my go-to nooby BnB with him. xD

Well those were the actual graphics you saw , iam sure of it. I actually compared this game with the games you mentioned but come to think of it kof has its own genre. So keeping that in mind the graphics of the game make sense to me. But the game is insanely fun to play and to watch. specially those HD combos into neo max makes the room roar

Got the game, and played it last night. It's brilliant and I love it!

Looks a lot better than it did at the Sony Centre... Actually, I'm inclined to believe that it's the PS3 that's been screwing over the graphics somehow, because it looks like a dream on my 360!

King and Kula are definitely in my team, and I'mma add Mai as well, and keep Leona as a secondary.

Kyo is so awesome and tempting to play but there are just way too many people playing him. xD

SNK-Playmore recently posted notes on the latest King of Fighters XIII patch they implemented for PS3 users. While details are scant at the moment, we have a short translation courtesy of Orochinagi.

You can filter ranked matches by ping.
Custom Match settings are saved between sessions.
Adjusted display of ping levels.
Adjusted stability of online connections.
Fixed some bugs in PLAYER DATA section.
Fixed some bugs in REPLAY section.
Fixed a number of bugs related to CUSTOMIZE and downloadable characters.

While the patch is only available for the PS3 at the moment, an Xbox 360 patch should be released soon.

ok people..i c some of u here are pros at kof...i am a total beast at kof with a keyboard ...u knw neogeo :yay:.....but now i hav to deal with ths joypad...though i can perform each type of combo and move ...but when it comes to drive cancell....and i saw its tutorial on utube..i was like wtf!!!...i mean how do u xpect me to do two consecutive super combos in a split second...tht too with a analog stick on a joypad!!!!...i mean there is got to b a trick or somethng ...i mean its impossible to do two consecutive moves with their commands in a split second...i m askng u guys fr triks becoz...i can cancell k's Crow Bites which is f, d, df + P ..into a Blackout ..which is d, df, f + K...but i dnt hav to give directions via analogue stick for blackout move..instead i only press the kick button and it gets cancel just by that!!

two consecutive supers,who does tht, or do u mean canceling into neomax while in super or sdm,cancleling from super to neo max gives u more than enough time to buffer,canceling from specials to super will be tough on kb maybe

ooopsie daisy..i meant to ask abt how to cancel frm SPECIAL into a SPECIAL...u knw fr long chained combos.....like ..iff u jst c som tutorials on utube...e.g:the tutuorial of iori on the page 19 of ths thread....he does cancels so quikcly...tht too..of special movs....thts wat i wanna knw...HOW does he do it SO QUICKLY WITH A JOYPAD~~

Bro, can you tell us maybe what combos you specifically want to perform? The Iori combo in the video on the 19th page... Those HD Cancels are actually rather easy, except for maybe the DF+P xx DF+PP part. Most HD and Drive Cancels are not that hard to perform... Unless you're going for something bat-shit insane like Kula's DP+HP xx HCB x2 + P. For crazy stuff like that, there are tricks and short-cuts, so we can help you out better if you tell us what combos you are specifically having trouble with; like what characters and what moves.

Also, I don't think the guy in that Iori video did it with a pad. He probably used an arcade stick. But I think it would be possible on pad too... Maybe you just have to get used to using pad a bit more since you mentioned you are used to playing on the keyboard.

thnx fr the help dude...im a kind of guy who iks to make his own combos ....so fr that i had to learn the drive cancell...i mostly play with kyo and k....with terry or ryo along.....so ive seen several movies on utube ......welll there is only one guy who uploads kof xiii's tutorials......e.g ths one....check out the FORTH combo

i mean he does quick cancels between the D.F.D PUNCH move and D.B.D KICK move and D.F KICK MOVE...thts wat i wanna learn (i mean one cannot due them in split seconds with full commands ...there has got to b a trick or smfn)...the other super cancels and neo max cancels arnt tht difficult.....and jst fr the record...iam new to kof tutorials and have NEVER searchd abt any of the moves on the internet..so wat does qcf..qcb..hcb..hcf..means??

Well the online for this game is pretty screwed up and that is one reason most of the people who love fighting games have forgotten about the game like myself. if you have a community of friends with whom you can have some offline sessions than it is highly recommended cos its one of the most brilliant games i have played . If you are looking to level up your game by playing online then don't go for it till they release a update patch to fix its online issues.

Which makes me think its about time snk playmore come up with a definite date for its patch otherwise its is feared that this game will be in the drenches in no time.
