Is FAST a good university to get into the game development business?
Also are any other universities where admissions are still going?
And what are the timings for universities? mine ends at 4:30

FAST is the best university in Karachi for Computer Science and they do teach game programming,not sure about development.Go on their site and see description of the course.They have a game and graphics programming course.............I will also go in FAST next year inshallah.

My cousin did CE from Sir Syed,he told me that CS is not good in SSU as compared to KU and FAST.

So no one knows about IBA's CS?
FAST is undoubtly great at CS, but I think I am not at their level. They they to overwork their students. We have more than 200 first year students now but much fewer seniors because most of them leave. Also, it is on the National Highway. And they do not have any Computer Graphics course in CS while the other two universities I applied to(Baharia and Usman, in June) had compulsory ones. So while it is good at Computer Science, I am asking about Video Game Development.

If you want the degree in Game development then you can't find any university atleast in Pakistan as far as I know having such a degree.But first tell me what type of role you are interested in for game development.If you want to be a programmer then you will need a BS in CS or Software Engineering or if you want to go the Art side then a degree relating visual art and animation will work for you.All you need is a good portfolio for a job in game industry and that you can get having a degree from a reputated university in Karachi.

I have a BS in Software Engineering but let me inform you that we have piracy related problems in Pakistan so game and software development for the Pakistani market will be of no use. If you have the finances my take would be to get admission abroad..Who knows maybe you'll get the chance to work in EA, Codemasters.. etc..

for game development i will say one should go to Malayaisa cheap bi hai and good bi

as other CS FAST and KU are good third and fourth tie hai SSU and Bahria me

many students are happy at SSU cause they teach halka and make students happy all the time

FAST ISLAMABAD is best for computers. dont go to karachi FAST. awam bekaar hai. VERY VERY VERY FAAAAR!
my neighbour went there. his life is totally effed up.

The role you are asking for is basically a game designer work which is not an entry level role.They are the combination of programmers,artists and animators who lead the whole team.They make the game looks and how it will work including mechanics.Some people say that they are more close to programming and animation.Atleast you need 7 to 8 year working experience in industry to apply for this role.They are very creative and it is hard to work as a designer.You can also apply for a game designer as an entry level if you have a degree in Game Design or development from Fullsail or Digipen,their graduates are now working as a game designers and programmers in EA,Rocsktar,Ubisoft.etc.I suggest you to pursue a Computer Science or Game design degree as most of the designers are holder of it.
