Capcom announced a new update to Street Fighter IV at EVO during a panel today.

In the upcoming update, five new fighters will be added to the game's roster. Those fighters include Elena, Hugo, Poison, Rolento, and a fifth unannounced character not yet introduced to the Street Fighter series. There will also be six new stages, as well as balance updates.

The new update is priced at $15 as DLC and will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The release date for the DLC will be announced early 2014.

The trailer for the update will be revealed at EVO tomorrow before the SSFIV AE Finals, which will also reveal the name of the update. It won't be called Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2013.

Update: According to Eventhubs and Capcom Unity, the update will also come in a digital download or retail disc for the full game, priced at $40. The full game will include the update as well as all previously released DLC costume and future content.

Elena is also an old character. She was in Third Strike. Poison is a new character she was never playable in any SF series. I hope the 5th character is Alex

CAPCOM says its going to be sum1 who hasnt been in SF before... Thought the character will be from the capcom universe... May be revealing it tomm .. cant wait

[h=1]New Battle Systems Revealed for Ultra Street Fighter IV[/h]

Capcom-Unity has revealed a couple new battle systems for the upcoming update of Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Ultra SF IV will introduce Ultra Combo Double. Once the revenge gauge is filled up, players can opt to use both Ultras simultaneously with a trade off in damage. This new mechanic is intended to open up to new strategies.
The second of two systems in Ultra is the Red Focus Attack. The new system will beef up the Focus Attack system allowing players to absorb multiple hits. Red Focus Attacks will use up Super meter and can be dash canceled.

Producer Tomoaki Ayano says that these systems are intended to offer options for offense and defense.


Unblockables will also be removed in the new update due to fan feedback. Location tests will be setup soon for players to submit feedback on these new systems and to report unblockables that are still present in the game.
