Bad news for the fighting game community. Mad Catz's popular Tournament Edition FightStick for the PlayStation 3 will be incompatible with the PS4, Mad Catz has confirmed to Joystiq. "Playstation 4 will require a whole new set of peripherals," Richard Neville says, senior product development manager for Mad Catz.
Mad Catz currently has a Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for Xbox One to be used for upcoming fighting game Killer Instinct. Xbox One will not be compatible with Xbox 360 controllers, forcing new hardware for the next-generation console. Mad Catz has not officially announced a FightStick for PS4.
A bit of a bummer for fans of fighting games.
