PixelJunk Eden , one of the pillars of the PixelJunk Series released in May '08 is a 2D Platformer . The game allows you to play at full HD 1080p . The game is set in an unknown garden called 'Eden' .
Your character is known as 'Grimp' whose name is made out of it's abilities ; grab and jump . Your main task is to collect the light spectra scattered throughout the gardens in Eden .
The game boasts marvellous work of art and is unique in it's own . The main menu of the game is rather unique . It's the garden 'Eden' . As you progress through the game , your garden keeps growing with plants , it allows you to reach for the higher levels for further progress .

Starting off from the graphics , this game simply looks beautiful . It's got no eye candy or the realism which one may look for in today's games . What makes this game beautiful is the work of art that's put in by the artists .The game looks quite simple . It's set in a 2D Environment . There are a couple of effects that beautify the game . While it may look simple , it boasts a bunch of vibrant colours which add a touch of beauty to the game . The environments of the game are truly phenomenal . They represent the theme of each garden . And as you collect the light spectra , the theme changes for a while adding a bit of temporal warmth to the stage's theme . While it may seem a bit dull in the graphics department , but you have to see the game in motion to appreciate it's real beauty .

PixelJunk Eden offers a huge amount of gameplay . There are a total of 10 gardens in the game among which each garden has 5 sub-levels . In Eden there are enemies of the gargen known as Pollen Prowlers . These pollen prowlers
are consisted of pollen . These enemies can be destroyed by simply touching them . Upon destruction , they release a small amount of pollen , you have to keep collecting the pollen to charge up the plant seeds which when fully charged require your contact and then sprout into a plant . The bigger the plant seed , the bigger will be the plant . Plants allow you to go higher and higher in the garden helping you to discover the light spectras .

The game features a chain combo system which means , when you destroy multiple pollen prowlers by coming in contact with them , the amount of pollen released is increased . If you come in contact with 5 pollen prowlers , you get a huge amount of pollen plus the oscillator fuel to charge up your oscillator . The oscillator is located at the bottom left corner of the screen and acts as a fuel for Grimp . If the oscillator goes out of tune , you are returned back to Eden and you must start it all over again . As you progress into the higher grounds , you will see mysterious enemies who will struck you off a plant if you come into contact with them or their attacks . While the gameplay may seem a bit simple , it will actually keep you hooked to the game for hours and surprisingly , it never gets boring .

The controls are slick and simple . The game supports motion sensor feature of the SIXAXIS Controller by which if you give the controller a downward nudge , grimp will make a sudden thrust in the downward direction .

One of the main things you have to experience in Eden is the sound and music in-game . The game plays marvellous music throughout each levels . And the music is unique for each garden . The game has an up-beat techno type of music and
the beats and vibes are totally in sync with the levels of the game . The music really connects you with the chemistry of the level and you'll really enjoy it while playing through the game . The music is quite soothing and the sound effects are full of pleasent beats . The music and art in the game is provided by an independent artist named Baiyon .

Lastly , the game supports RemotePlay which is a big thing for PSP Owners . It allows you to play the game on your PSP . And the game also features video recording within the game using the game controls . You can record upto 10 minutes of video of your gameplay and upload it directly onto YouTube . The game is available for $9.99 on the PlayStation Network . And it's a bang for the buck if you ask me . And for a limited time these days , it's available for $ 4.99 .
