Freelancing vs Regular Job

Hey all,
I have been doing freelance work in Mobile development for quite some time now. It's been going great for me but I was thinking how would this work out in the long run. I mean if I ever decide to apply for a normal job, would my freelance experience be of any value? Will they count it as "work experience"? Will I be able to get a senior position? Or will I only be able to apply for fresh graduate jobs and start from the bottom?
Another option could be to continue what I am doing and progress more in the freelance work. Currently Ive got a fair share of direct clients that I work for and I've got a good reputation on Fiverr and Upwork as well.
I also think that usually in our society, freelance work isn't considered as a "true" job. I mean I have heard stories of guys leaving freelance work and getting jobs before getting married so that the girl's parents won't think that they stay at home all day and do nothing. Of course this is a subjective thing but still I wanted to know if any of you dealt with such a situation? Im not thinking of getting married soon but it's something we all go through in life.

So if anyone here was in the same boat as I am and had the same questions as me, how did it work out for you?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Yes..for this I would highly recommend that you make an online "portfolio" page..when you link and screenshot all your work and finished product
and get confirmation certificate or invoice or something to prove you worked on it

not in your situation..but I think if you REALLY need to show that you have a job, get a website made and some cards printed and become a single person company. :D or show them your spanking new civic 2017 model

If you have some direct clients and some budget (not much), i think you should start your own software house. Hire some internees, some good developers, manage them and get your work done from them. Try and launch your own ideas. If it all goes well, you can own your own small company. Even if it does not you can still mention this period as experience as manager/ceo in your resume. (y)

Thanks for the advice. I was also thinking about making a portfolio site.
Have you heard or witnessed a situation where a candidate was given job on a senior level on the basis of his freelance experience?

Yeah it does make sense to do that in the long run. But it's nice to know what will be my options if I ever want to branch out and do something else. Will I be able to apply for a senior developer position with just freelance experience?
