Introduction
Enermax is one of the earliest of brand names aimed at the high-end market. Their main manufacturing slot ranges from case, power supply, cooling solution and to other accessories as well. There was time when Enermax technology specialized in only power supplies and making their own units however due to unforeseen circumstances, things tend to change. Anyhow, their enhanced product line has a lot more to offer nowadays. They have a long list of cooling fan models from the PWM T.B. variant to the D.F. models.

Being a reviewer, it’s always an honor to present a company’s top-tier cooling products from famed manufacturers. In this regard, I have received a sample package of 4 fans from Enermax’s latest LED fans; The D.F. Vegas.with Model Name - UCDFV12P-BL

Today, I am reviewing the Enermax D.F. Vegas Fan, which is specifically designed for enthusiastic level rig makers & top end modders. Enermax’s cooling fans have always been different from what other products have been offering in the market. This D.F. Vegas fan was introduced in early 2016, featuring Dust Free Rotation (DFR) Technology which allows the user to experience beautiful Blue LED effects. In addition, it bounds in a self-cleaning solution.

Enermax's Dust Free fan series comes in three different variations such as the D.F. Vegas, D.F. Vega Duo and D.F. Pressure. Our review will be talking about the D.F. Vegas which is retailing at MSRP $19 at the time of writing.

Features & Design
Lightening Effect: Blue LED Circular Lightening effect with 5 different modes. With a controllable switch you can change the lightening mode whenever you want. It would be just a matter of pressing the switch and you will have your desire effect online.

Patented Adjusted Peak Speed: Patented APS control allows to control Fan in 3 different RPM Range

APS RPM Mode consist of
  • Ultra-Silent Mode
  • Silent Mode
  • Performance Mode
DFR Technology: Enermax introduces a DFR technology in their D.F series fans which offer a fan to spin a reverse at startup before getting into normal mode. In addition, a self-cleaning solution which allows user to make fan a dust free without getting into much hectic work. The major benefit is to prolong the lifetime of fans and reducing the dust on heatsink or radiator. While keep the airflow cool.

Shockproof Installation: An isolator mount which helps in shockproof installation. D.F Vegas designed to with isolator mounts allows to do a shockproof installation.

Blades: Fans consist of 7 transparent yet sharply angled blades which can runs from 800 to 1500 RPM depending on user’s preference.

The Package

The fans arrived in their original boxes. Since we received 2 pair of fans or 4x D.F. Vegas Fan in a package. The box reveals the Enermax logo on top. The color scheme is basic i.e. a combination of white and red. 5 selectable LED Modes and other unique features are pictured on the front of the box. The backside is white in color & filled with the key features, brief details regarding the fans and their specifications.

The enermax Logo designed around sides. 12CM on top and model number mention at bottom along with barcode.

PWM APS, Circular LED, Twister bearing and Detachable Blade fan design pictured at front bottom.

The box comes in a unique design as it opens up into another layer of covers from the front which reveals the fans. In addition, the extra features are detailed at the back layer of the cover. The product packaging from Enermax is brilliant, to say the least.

Unboxing the fan, we have a transparent fan along with accessories. Which includes,
  • 4 case screws for 12CM installation,
  • 4 longer radiator screws
  • Molex Connector
  • 1 x 4 pin PWM connector,
  • 1 x 4 pin fan power adaptor
  • 1 x adhesive tape

The Closer Look

You won’t get better transparency than this. The fan has a square black frame across the blades with blue mounts on each corner, which helps in a shockproof installation. Inside the fan frame, the LED strip is attached in a circle and each led has its own slot showing the glowing spot. The classy transparent blades showcase the nature of build of the fans.

Regarding the operation of the fan, the unit has a 4-pin PWM and a beautiful black sleeved cable for protection. Of course the lighting effect won’t go self-selected, Enermax did a great job by attaching a cables along with sleeved wire which ends up with a switch button that allows the users to select or change the lighting mode at will.

There is RPM Mode called The patented Adjusted Peak Speed (APS) is controllable mode switch located at the top of the unit which allows users to change the RPM mode ranging from 800 to 1500. There are 3 selectable modes i:e 800, 1100 and 1500 RPM. It may not be very helpful but it works to say the least. Any how it is an additional feature enermax is offering.

Conclusion

  • $19 MSRP
Pros:
  • Circular LED mode
  • Additional Features
  • Solid Build quality
  • Accessories
  • Led Switch Button
  • Reasonable price
Cons:
  • Flash Led is not for all (Again it's a choice, Changeable)
The Enermax Dust Free fan also known as D.F. Vegas fans are the latest edition in the cooling category for enthusiasts. A transparent fan packed with a bundle of features. Starting with the LED as the most prominent part for which the fan gained significance. 5 different lighting modes which completely change the inside look of your case, unlike the Vegas Duo (Dust free variant), They are only in one color i.e. blue color LEDs. Sparkle, Vegas are most user friendly, while I didn’t particularly like the Flash LED Mode, too loud for silent gaming pc.

In addition, the DFR technology with a few add-ons seems another competitive feature in the market. To be honest, with so many features and add-ons on a single product, could satisfy the fancy need but people who are not interested in such won't find it valuable. There are plenty of options in D.F Vegas fans that make your gaming rig look fabulous. However, if someone don't like the glowing...
