BBA/MBA (HR vs Banking and Finance vs Marketing vs Supply chain Management)

Hello guys,

Need this advice my friend asked me this so i am shiring this with you educated and well informed people.

So she's a very career oriented girl currently doing BBA so which major would be good to get a good feature Job here in Pakistan and Aboard (which major is in demand?)

And also which field to pursue in MBA ?

She also plans to do ACCA after BBA so which field will be better ?

give your Advices.

Rather do ACCA then waste 4 years in BBA. ACCA is a professional degree

If she is already in it , then doesn't matter which majors she chooses. Tell her to choose which ever major she is interested in. You don't need any specific majors to get a job. For a job you need a good reference as in " paawa" in Pakistan. Just tell her to score a good GPA and apply somewhere abroad and stay there .

Already doing BBA and ACCA is not a degree its a certification

She can do bi-majors as well. One should choose the subjects / field, which they are more comfortable with, although, mostly females prefer HR related jobs hence they select subjects accordingly. Also most of the Companies prefer hiring female staff in their HR department.

If doing ACCA then having background with majors in Finance & Accounting makes more sense.

Sure , be my guest , go for it . I thought the same few years ago. Imagine every 6 months 20k BBA students graduate , do you think all 20k get a job ? Let's say 1000 of them are exceptional in studies and have the required skills , do you think they all get a job ? Let me state you the facts in Pakistan every 6 months on average 300 private jobs come out , what are the odds of your friend getting a job ?

There are thousands of HR, Marketing and Finance graduates coming out every year. I say go for the one where there's still some room remaining. Supply Chain would be my advice.

HR is usually considered more Female friendly in Pakistan
I think marketing has a never ending scope
However there are other feilds aswell like Operations management , Supply Chain and Business Informatics
its about the interests aswell rather than SCOPE
if interested in ACCA she should inquire ACCA about any possible paper Exemption Considering her BBA degree and course contents

I did bba and got exemptions in 7 papers for acca. but i refuse to give acca as its worthless in Pakistan unless you've done 3 years articleship and if you still do that it wont throttle you forward. There are 1000's of individuals doing acca because a) they didnt get in uni or b) they want to do accounting. You should do bba from a reputable uni and go for mba from the good uni too. The field of study should be ur choice. Ofc HR favors females but females tend to do well in other fields too as long as they have interest in it.
