Hey guys

I am looking to buy a husky puppy but I am not sure of the requirements to keep one. I heard they require extra care.

DO they need special cooling or is that just a myth?

Do i have to install a separate cooler/AC for them?

Or will they be fine without such extra care?

Anyone with a husky and first hand experience please kindly help. Thanks.

More care than anything you can import from other habitats....

A/C is a must.
24/7.

The summers are deadly now.
Its no use getting one. Humans are dying, let alone a breed made for cold.

ofc they need cool place to live , I'd recommend you to fell in love with another breed if you are in punjab or any other hotter area , they cant be ok , bcz they cant be just trapped in one room for the rest of the life with an AC on , they need walking and playing etc

I already have rottweilers, german shepherds and doberman. Can't fall in love with any other dog.

I really want a husky. Some people tell me a cooler will be enough. Others even say they dont require that.

Question though.
Did you find one that is domestically raised in Islamabad?

Those that are raised locally MIGHT be easier to care.

(Stay away from "importers" Such traffickers should not be given support)

Do males cost more?

I can't tell if a puppy is pure bred, can you guys help out...I've seen pics of the parents but still not sure.

yeah few ppl who are husky breeders here in pakistan saying that they are having husky for years , and they say they adopted the enviroments , well it'd be good if you check them before buying , if u r make them feel easy u can have them

Don't buy a huskey if you can't keep it indoors most of the time. No, coolers are not enough for them in 45 degree heat.

Guys I am going for a local purchase, not imported. Will they be able to survive this heat?

Here are the pics of the ones I plan on getting. Do they look good? They have a bit blue around their eyes but can't see unless you open up their eyelids.

Will the blue start spreading more and become more prominent with time? They are 3-4 weeks old atm.

Should I go for a woolly coated one or normal?
Do answer ASAP.

I know 2 ppl in Lahore who have huskies, but they keeps them indoors, I know a lot of ppl can't do that in PK due to religious reasons etc. If you can not keep it inside the house 24/7 specially during summers, I would advise you against buying one. And by indoor I don't mean lock it in one room, they roam freely around the house.

You have rotts, german shepherds and doberman and yet you believe on that (highlighted in red) statements? Rottweiler itself requires cooling in our local summer season bhai saab (at least in 33C+ temp)

Husky requires A/C and extra grooming + care! if you live in a cooler place or can afford a A/C or a low temperature by any mean then go with a husky
