Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S release date and price finally revealed

Microsoft is set to hold a press event soon to showcase the next-gen console pricing, and it's pretty familiar.

If the XSX really does get priced at $499, Sony would be looking at trouble and might have to price the PS5 at a very sweet spot between those two price ranges.

$300 is really good for XBSS (although the games might not 'look' so next-gen). PS5 digital edition can't be as low in price because of the hardware difference. That means XBSS becomes a cheaper option for someone who wants to play MS games and multiplats on a console.

I'm guessing $400 for PS5 digital and $500 for the other PS5.

sony doesn't need to hit the sweet spot they know even if they price it same as XSX etc they will sell more coz of fanbase they already have. plus exclusives.

Yeah, market leaders aren't afraid of the competition like Sony is. If you know your hardware will sell and have exclusives you keep bragging about, why not go first?

dude the sole reason they revealed this is because it got leaked yesterday lol, you know this was unplanned because they just put out a tweet, a 30 second 'trailer' and promised there will be more coming soon.

Thats okay. They arent market leaders, no one expects them to go first. And Series X price still hasnt been revealed directly from MS even though its unofficially 'confirmed' at this point.

But theres no reason why Sony should be on the back foot.

This is where the perception is wrong.

Sony led the market with the PS2 and then became arrogant with the PS3 release and got humbled later on during its life cycle.

And at that time they were establishing new IPs that along with the PS4's specs/price compared to XONE drove PS4 to its success.

Whose to say Sony won't become arrogant next-gen? Whatever IPs they have, from what I'm seeing are getting milked. Where is the risk-taking Sony with new IPs?

PS5 Digital Only and PS5 Disc Versions are identical minus the disc drive, meaning being powerful than the XSS. So, yeah, Sony does need to hit a sweet spot IMO and use their technical lingo to their advantage.

Exclusives are thinning for now and exclusives will be coming to PC, no matter how later on.
