I dont mind the mini tower look as long as it stays reliable and remains quiet under load!

Honestly it looks way better than the leaked PSV blueprints, that shit is ugly!

pretty sure you might be able to put it horizontally as well unless that would scratch the discs or something hope not
I was curious about this too. Although I personally prefer to put my consoles in vertical position.

This is from Phil spencer;

"The first thing I wanted to say is the [Xbox Series X's] design works vertical or horizontal, just like the Xbox One S and Xbox One X," he said. "We think that it's not our job to dictate the orientation of our console in your home. That is up to you."

It can also suspend two games at once! Meaning both games will be kept in memory and will stay there

[h=1]The next generation of Xbox is just called ... Xbox[/h]

The Series X is a version of the Xbox, not the name of the new generation

Image

During The Game Awards 2019, Microsoft unveiled the next generation of Xbox: the Xbox Series X. Or that’s what we and everyone else thought it was called. However, Business Insider recently spoke to a Microsoft representative who confirmed the next generation’s name is simple. Xbox — Series X is the name of the model coming next year.
“The name we’re carrying forward to the next generation is simply Xbox,” said the Microsoft representative. “And at The Game Awards you saw that name come to life through the Xbox Series X.” In a separate quote, the representative told Business Insider: “Similar to what fans have seen with previous generations, the name ‘Xbox Series X’ allows room for additional consoles in the future.”
This is a similar naming convention to the powerful Xbox One X and less powerful Xbox One S.
It’s unclear if Xbox intends to continue denoting the weaker console with S, leading to a Xbox Series S next year as well. It’s also possible Microsoft could ditch the cheaper model altogether, and the Series X will be the only next generation console from Microsoft in 2020.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer talked about the new name with GameSpot, too, noting the possibility of other versions. “In the name ‘Series X’, it gives us freedom to do other things with that name so that we can create descriptors when we need to,” Spencer said.
The Series X offers exciting new features for Xbox players — including a new controller with a share button. The recently announced console can also play all generations of Xbox games and is more powerful than the Xbox One. But all that really matters is we know what the next generation is actually called now.
It’s Xbox, dammit. That’s the official name.

Just Xbox? Last one was Xbox "One". Just call it Xbox II or 2. How hard is it give name to a "box"? (sm1)

Xbox Series *character* is a great way to keep it just "Xbox" branded.

They can do Xbox Series *something* a few years later for a new generation.

I think Sony is doing the right thing by keeping it simple.... With MS they are just confusing it for many parents who buy this stuff for their children and are not really into gaming themselves. I am guessing alot of marketing budget will have to be allocated to differentiate Series X with One X.

Parents like that shop at the mercy of the retail salesman. They aren't gonna drop $400-500 on a console without confirming that its "the newer one that just came out". Besides, the non-traditional design is the biggest differentiating factor here.

Richard thinks its baseline $500 console or maybe higher. That would make it atleast approx Rs. 78,000 without local seller profit margin.

One console: 12 TF
One console: 4 TF

that seems like a pretty huge gap in raw power for consoles SKU's in the same generation.

Lockhart confirmed to be 4TF? Regardless its a different architecture so TF numbers don't paint the full capabilities of the machine.

2.4GB/s isn't anywhere near the top end SSD speed which can reach 3.5GB/s.

Yeah, Rich says marketing a 4TF console isn't as appealing at 5: 30. Maybe he's theorizing or maybe he has insider info.

In Europe and Asia it is stupid to go for Xbox as none of your friends play on it .for north America it makes sense to go with Xbox console

So here's the thing. Assuming it's 500$ for the higher end console, when it reaches here, it will be more than 1 lac. Nvidia launches it's 7nm next mid year. For a lac budget you can make a pretty decent gaming PC next year if you are okay with bundle deals (Mobo+ram+CPU). Right now a core i5 9400f bundle is going no more than 45k which already goes head to head with the ryzen 3500 even beating it sometimes. Next year CPUs are gonna be even better. So again next gen consoles will be on par with mid end of the next year.

However, the SSD tech they are packing won't be matched by mid end PCs for at least an year or so.

Just my thoughts
