[h=1]Grand Theft Auto 5 added to Xbox Game Pass[/h]

GTA Online is also available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold subscribers

Image

Grand Theft Auto 5, the 2013 title from Rockstar Games, has been added to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Players with a Game Pass subscription can now access the game for free on Xbox One.
It might not seem like such a big deal for a seven-year old game — but despite its age, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still wildly popular. It remains one of the most-viewed games on livestreaming platform Twitch, and is regularly in the top five games played on Steam. Folks with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold will have access to Grand Theft Auto Online, too — the online service that Rockstar Games continuously updates.

3,513 people are talking about this

GTA Online’s latest free update dropped on Dec. 12 and added a new mission, The Diamond Casino Heist. The update added a bunch of other stuff to the game, too, like a retro arcade business that’s a staging ground for heists.
Grand Theft Auto is available now only for Xbox Game Pass subscribers with consoles. PC Game Pass players don’t have access to the title.

[h=1]Xbox Game Pass adding Frostpunk, Sword Art Online, and Tekken 7 to consoles in January[/h]

Just Cause 3 and Lego City Undercover will leave the service at the same time

Image

Xbox Game Pass kicked off the New Year by adding Grand Theft Auto 5. Now the team behind the Xbox One game console’s subscription plan is unveiling the next batch of new additions, including a Tekken title and a hit PC strategy game.
First up on Jan. 9 is Frostpunk: Console Edition. First announced in 2016, Frostpunk was a hit on Steam, blending city-building mechanics with a grim dystopian future. The game was a commercial as well as a critical success, and works surprisingly well on a controller thanks to its radial design.
Next up is Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. The third-person shooter action role-playing game was first released in Feb. 2018. Based on the anime of the same name, the action of the game takes place inside a fictional game called Gun Sale Online. It’s the direct successor to Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization.
Rounding out the slate of new releases is Tekken 7, arriving on Jan. 16. Released in 2017, Polygon reviewed the fighting game favorably, calling its characters “fluid and memorable.”
Of course, just like the movies on Disney Plus, games don’t stay on Game Pass forever. Leaving this month are Lego City Undercoverand Just Cause 3. Members can receive a 20% discount on those games if they’d like to buy a digital license outright and keep them in their collection. You can read the full update at the official Xbox blog.

[h=1]Xbox Game Pass February games: Final Fantasy 15, Wolfenstein: Youngblood[/h]

Rage and Shadow of the Tomb Raider leaving by month’s end

Wolfenstein: Youngbloodand Final Fantasy 15headline the new titles available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, beginning tomorrow.
They’ll be joined on Feb. 13 by Death Squared, a co-operative puzzle game brought in by Microsoft’s [email protected] program. Death Squared launched in 2017 on Xbox One as well as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It was previously offered to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in July 2018.
Final Fantasy 15, which launched in November 2016, needs little introduction. It’s the latest epic in the 32-year-old series. Although it launched to critical acclaim and was a sales hit for Square Enix, the publisher scrapped three of the last four character expansions players expected in 2019 after game director Hajime Tabata left the company.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is also the latest episode in a long-tenured franchise. The first-person shooter, which follows the twin daughters of B.J. Blazkowicz through an alternate history of France in 1980, launched last summer. The game focuses on co-operative play with players taking control of one of the two main characters to finish off the Nazi threat.
Leaving the Xbox Game Pass library by the end of the month are Rage, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Epic Mickey 2, Jackbox Party Pack 2, and Pumped BMX Pro. Subscribers who want to keep playing those games get a 20% discount on purchasing them outright

lol PS Now will also get RDR2 eventually. GTAV was on PS Now first, so MS probably struck an early deal for RDR2.

PS Now is a cloud streaming service. Equivalent service on Xbox would be xCloud.

If XBL Gold is equivalent to PS+, that means Sony doesn't even have a competing service to Game Pass :hah:

Sed PS lyfe.

Except that Game Pass also gets new games day 1 and xCloud is said to integrate Game Pass with the service as well, making it a far better value proposition.

Of course it's 10 Million given how they handed out free codes like candy, offer early subscriptions for $1, charge only $5 for PC Game Pass, and gave the option to convert existing XBL accounts to Game Pass for free during its launch period :hah:

And lol @ those 90 Million XBL users, which includes users playing games that require XBL on mobile, Switch, PS4, and also PC users in general. How many XBL Gold subscribers, MS?

Xbox Game Pass is getting Red Dead Redemption 2, DayZ, and Final Fantasy 9 in May

These games are just for consoles, sorry PC players

Microsoft has revealed some of the biggest games coming to Xbox Game Pass in May, and it looks like this may be one of the service’s most impressive months so far.
Things kick off on May 7 with DayZ, the open-world zombie survival game from Bohemia Interactive. That same day, players also get Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar’s latest offering lets players explore the American frontier with Arthur Morgan and his gang, or jump to Xbox Live for some wild-west fun in Red Dead Online.
On May 14 players will get access to Final Fantasy 9, which tells the story of a kidnapped princess and a ragtag theater troupe. Finally, on May 19, players will get Fractured Minds, a smaller game that focuses on the everyday challenges of living with anxiety.
Aside from all these games, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is also getting more perks in May, with the addition of six months of Spotify Premium. This offer is only good for users in the U.S. and U.K., while subscribers in other countries will only get three months free. This offer only applies to new Spotify Premium members.
Game Pass has also included some great games in the last couple of weeks, including Moving Out, a fantastic co-op game about a destructive moving company, and Streets of Rage 4, a loving update to the original franchise.
A few games are also leaving Game Pass in May. Players can play these games until their date of departure, or they can use their 20% Game Pass discount to buy the titles for their own library.
Here are all the games leaving Game Pass in May:
May 7

 • Grand Theft Auto 5
May 15

 • Black Desert
 • Doom
 • Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game
 • Mega Man Legacy Collection 2
 • Metal Gear Survive
 • The Banner Saga
 • Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
Xbox Game Pass for consoles is $9.99 a month and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes Xbox One and PC access, is $14.99 per month. Xbox Game Pass for PC, which is currently in beta, costs $4.99 per month.

Cross-posting from the Cyberpunk thread:

No Microsoft game has left the service as of yet. They appear day 1 and stay on the service.
Because MS no longer has IPs that can sell 10M+ copies. Sony's approach is deliberately "half-assed". The market leader doesn't need to take cues from a console maker that's in 3rd place lol.

Wake me up when CDPR puts Cyberpunk or Witcher 4 on GoG Pass day 1 :hah:
