[h=1]To celebrate QuakeCon, Rage and Doom are now available on Xbox Game Pass[/h]

[h=2]his is a great way to catch up on both shooters before their sequels arrive[/h]

Two of id Software’s biggest franchises are on their way to Xbox Game Pass in celebration of QuakeCon 2018, which started on Friday morning. The original Rage and 2016’s Doom are now available to subscribers.
Both Rage and Doom have sequels coming out in the near future that were heavily featured during QuakeCon’s opening keynote. Rage 2 promises to be much bigger and more open than its predecessor. During the convention, id showed off a trailer that included a player assaulting a satellite lab and taking down an armored convoy. Meanwhile, for Doom’s sequel,Doom Eternal, there was a lengthy gameplay segment that showed off the game’s massive scale, new enemies and even a grappling gun that speeds up combat even more.
Both of these games are available now on Microsoft’s subscription service, which allows players to download and play a selection of Xbox games for a flat monthly price. While the first Rage wasn’t exactly the best game ever, Doom might be, and its addition to Game Pass is perfect for anyone who missed out when it was released back in 2016.

[h=1]Xbox Game Pass will eventually come to PC, Microsoft CEO says[/h]

[h=2]No timeline, but Microsoft is looking to grow the service[/h]

Xbox Game Pass will come to Windows PC eventually, Microsoft’s chief executive told investors on Wednesday.
“Whether it’s first-party games or third-party games, we are best-in-class in that monetization and that’s what’s reflected in the results,” said Satya Nadella during the company’s quarterly earnings call (as transcribed by Seeking Alpha). “So, given that structural position, we are going to make sure that we keep increasing the strength of the community. [...] Obviously, bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of that.”
Xbox Game Pass already is available to Windows 10 users, technically, if they stream games to their PC from an Xbox One using the Xbox app for Windows 10. Nadella didn’t give any sort of timeline or details about how Game Pass would be integrated with PC.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service giving players access to an expanding library of hundreds of games for a $9.99 monthly fee, sort of like a Netflix for video games. It’s not a streaming service; users download the games, and can play them as long as their subscription is active (there is an option to purchase individual titles outright). The library comprises both Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Xbox Game Pass launched in late May 2017.
Microsoft has made more of a point of integrating Windows 10 into its Xbox plans over the past few years. In 2016, the company introduced a Play Anywhere initiative that allows players to buy a game on Xbox One and get access to its Windows 10 version (and vice versa). In that year, six titles including Quantum Break, ReCoreandGears of War 4all launched on both platforms on the same date.
In January, Microsoft promised that all Microsoft Studios-published games for Xbox One would be available to Game Pass subscribers on their launch day. Nadella’s statement on Wednesday would further cement Windows 10 as a launch partner with first-party Xbox One games going forward.

[h=1]PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds available on Xbox Game Pass next week[/h]

[h=2]ID@Xbox indie games to launch on Game Pass going forward, too[/h]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be available to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers beginning Monday, Microsoft announced today at its X018 gala in Mexico City.
PUBG’s addition to the Xbox Game Pass library of more than 100 titles highlighted several announcements for the Xbox One’s all-you-can-eat subscription service. The ID@Xbox program for indie games will bring new titles to Xbox Game Pass the day they debut on Xbox One, the same as the company has been doing with its first party titles since March.
Among the games that will be launching on Xbox Game Pass are Mutant Year Zero,Aftercharge, The Good Life, Secret Neighbor, Supermarket Shriek, Void Bastards and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. That game will launch on Xbox One and PC globally in 2019; its predecessor, Ori and the Blind Forest, will join the Xbox Game Pass library in December, Microsoft said, along with Kingdom Two Crowns and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Other additions to the Game Pass library include Skybound Games’ Thief of Thieves, starting today, and on Nov. 22, Agents of Mayhem, MXGP and Thomas Was Alone.
Microsoft also announced that, beginning today and lasting until Jan. 3, 2019, new subscribers can sign up for Xbox Game Pass and get their first full month for $1.

[h=1]Mortal Kombat X on Xbox Game Pass now, PES 2019 next week[/h]
[h=2]Very unusual to have a current licensed sports video game available[/h]

Mortal Kombat Xmakes a timely appearance on Xbox Game Pass this week — the sequel,Mortal Kombat 11, was announced at The Game Awards 2018 on Thursday night — and Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 joins Dec. 13 as a rare licensed sports video game appearing in season.
They join Ashen, the action RPG that was also announced and launched Thursday evening.
Mortal Kombat X launched in April 2015 and re-released as Mortal Kombat XL in March 2016. Xbox Game Pass subscribers get the first version, but XL, which includes all of the additional DLC characters and skin packs, is available at discount to subscribers for $15.99.
Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, a finalist for Best Sports/Racing Game at The Game Awards 2018, launched at the end of August. With EA Sports committing its lineup to EA Access, licensed sports games are a rarity on Xbox Game Pass. NBA 2K17was added more than a year after its launch, as was WWE 2K17, since removed.
Also coming later this month:

[h=1]Xbox Game Pass adds Life is Strange 2, Absolver, Ark, and more in January[/h]
[h=2]Subscribers get a massive dose of episodic and open-world action games[/h]

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get a fresh batch of new and not-so-new Xbox One games this month, including Absolver, Ark: Survival Evolved, and the first chapter of Life is Strange 2.
Microsoft and Square Enix added Life is Strange’s first five-chapter season and the game’s three-chapter prequel, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, to Xbox Game Pass in December 2018. Now, Life is Strange 2 is on its way to Game Pass, starting Jan. 3, with the first episode. Microsoft says episodes 2-5 will hit Xbox Game Pass “soon” — episode 2 is slated for release on Jan. 24.
Joining Life is Strange 2 on Jan. 3 are Ark: Survival Evolved, the futuristic action-adventure survival game, and Farming Simulator 17, the farming simulator released in 2016.
Rounding out January are martial arts action-RPG Absolver, coming Jan. 7; explosive open-world action sandbox Just Cause 3, coming Jan. 10; and the 3v3 asymmetrical competitive action game Aftercharge, which debuts on Xbox Game Pass on Jan. 10.
Microsoft promises more than 100 games as part of Xbox Game Pass, which costs $9.99 per month. The full list of games available on Game Pass is on the Xbox website.

December was an epic month for Gamepass, this month's edition are not that worthwhile at least for me. Except maybe ARK which seems to be interesting, although the gameplay clips i have seen have me kinda confused. Has anyone played it ? How is it and whats it about ?

I'm beginning to see why people would buy an Xbox One - pretty good stuff in Game Pass. Although it is costly compared to PSN, especially when coupled with an Xbox Live subscription for multiplayer, I guess it is still worth it for someone who does not play online frequently and would otherwise purchase quality games.

If you are comparing it to PSN then you need to compare it with PS NOW as that is what MS is competing with since both consoles require paid subscription for MP. But honestly the value of gamepass is absolutely insane especially if u get it on sale which i have been doing for almost a year ~ $30 for a 6 month subscription. All 1st party games are there not to mention Forza Horizon 4, SOT and the upcoming Crackdown at launch. Along with that I guess there are more than a hundred 3rd party games. Pretty sure MS makes no money pulling this shit and are just increasing the install base to a point where it becomes a somewhat necessary sub to keep on. I mean $60 for a years subscription is equal to the full retail price of just 1 game - absolutely bonkers !!!

since the games are being added monthly same will be the case for old games to move out? like netflix
Yeah games move out of the library too. At the moment the games moving out are insignificant to the ones that are being added in... I am not sure what happens if you have a game downloaded and it moves out of Gamepass though. So yes it is sort of a Netflix for consoles.

According to the official FAQs, you have to buy the game to be able to play it again, usually at discounted prices if you are still a Game Pass subscriber.

[h=1]Xbox Game Pass for January: Shadow of Mordor, We Happy Few, and more[/h]

[h=2]Saints Row: The Third and The Lego Movie Videogame round out the January additions[/h]

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordorheadlinesthe new offerings for the rest of January on Xbox Game Pass. The 2014 open-world adventure joins the Xbox 360’s Saints Row: The Third, The Lego Movie Videogame, and We Happy Few.
We Happy Few, coming to Xbox Game Pass on Jan. 17, is the newest of the bunch, launching in August (it had been in early access since 2016). It’s by Compulsion Games, which Microsoft acquired last year. The game merges role-playing and survival elements as the player navigates a drugged-out dystopian 1960s, where Great Britain was invaded and conquered in World War II.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (arriving Jan. 24)launched in 2014 for Xbox One and was followed by Middle-earth: Shadow of War in 2017. The Lego Movie Videogame (Jan. 17) also launched in 2014. Saints Row: The Third (Jan. 24) is the oldest of the group, premiering in 2011.

They join Absolver, Ark: Survival Evolved,Just Cause 3,and Life is Strange 2’s first chapter, which were added to the library earlier this month. The Xbox Game Pass library comprises more than 200 titles and is available to subscribers for $9.99 a month. New subscribers can get their first month for $1.
