hello everyone,

I am interested to buy Nokia 7 Plus. So I need your suggestions. My budget is Rs. 40,000/-. I wish to buy a mid range phone powerful enough to run most games as well as apps. Currently I have a Xiaomi Mi Max 2 and I can not run even the most popular apps in this; for example I can't run "Greenify" app as well as many many others. The MIUI UI Xiaomi uses is very restrictive and you can not do whatever you wish in their phones which you can do on other phones which have pure android such as Nokia 7 Plus. Kindly inform if Nokia 7 Plus would be good for me. And if you suggest some alternative phones and they have their own UIs on top of Android kindly suggest the ones which have UIs which are not so restrictive. Also please inform which site is the most reliable if I buy Nokia 7 online. With my best regards. Yours sincerely.:)

First of all, Greenify isn't necessary on newer devices. It was fine on Marshmallow, but after Nougat, and Oreo, Greenify is useless, since Android puts background apps to sleep itself.

However, the chipset in the Nokia 7 Plus is still quite powerful, despite being a mid-range chip. I bought one for my sister and she upgraded from her old S7 edge, and is much happier with it. 2 day battery life, fantastic performance with stock android, decent camera and quick updates. It's already on the June security patch.
Captain Wajji also recently bought a Nokia 7 Plus and even he has many good things to say about it.

You can buy it from iShopping (quick delivery) or Advance Telecom (pathetic customer support and slow shipping).
Make sure the one you're getting from iShopping is the official warranty PTA approved variant.

For this price range, it's probably the best phone you can get. Definitely recommended from my side.

Thanks a lot for providing me with the link.
As it's stated on iShopping Nokia 7 plus page "Official Warranty, PTA Approved" should I confirm from them if phone they are offering is the official warranty PTA approved variant? Also I wish to know two things from you. 1- Is Nokia 7 plus processor faster than that of Mi Max 2 and 2- The screen of Nokia 7 plus is stated as LCD screen. Is it OK? Does it provide clear view. Kindly inform and with my best regards. :)

No need to ask them, a user on PG has purchased the Nokia 7 Plus from iShopping and it was with official warranty.

Yes, the Nokia 7 Plus's CPU is superior to the one used in the Mi Max 2. The Snapdragon 660 in the Nokia 7+ is actually quite impressive.
As for the display, the Mi Max 2 also has an LCD, and so does the Nokia, so you're not really losing out on anything. It's a decent display.

Better processor. SD 625 vs 660. Kyro > Cortex which is used in Nokia 7 Plus in terms of performance. Battery life is amazing. Display is pretty good. It could have been a bit brighter. It's not really bright in sunlight which my previous phone was. Rest, it's amazing. The fingerprint and other things are flawless. Never a time when the fingerprint gave me an error while with my previous phone, I had to use pattern 70% of the times due to fingerprint error.

I still believe Nokia 8 is a better buy at 31k only.
Not really. The 8 launched with Nougat, so will only get Android P.

7 Plus launched with Oreo, so it will get P and then the next version of Android as well.

which xiaomi phone u are using? how is the camera and display?
Simply flash a custom Aosp rom and you are good to go.

I switched from MIUI to Aosp rom and I'm satisfied.

how is the camera of xiaomi?
36000 for 7 plus in market and 36000 for Nokia 8.

Online you'll get the Nokia 8 a bit cheaper. Check out the website of iShopping.

murtaza12 correct bro but SD835 and qhd screen
SDM660 is just as capable and having an FHD panel on the 7 Plus gives ridiculous battery life. My sister's phone was 3 days off charge and 8 hours of SOT. Even with heavy use, it's hard to get it below 30% in one day.

While the 835 is also very energy efficient, that plus a QHD panel may not give anywhere near the same level of battery life as the 7 Plus.

Besides, QHD ka kya faida when it's not AMOLED [emoji14]

I would have gone for Nokia 8 but left it just because of a smaller battery.
