What's the deal with getting EA Access on PlayStation?

I though I could just get 12 months of EA Access using the money in my PS wallet, turns out you need a credit card to be registered on your device, first.

Is there a way to get EA Access on PS4, without me needing an active US based credit card or PayPal?

i just explained it mr Doof. you need a us credit card or what ever countries psn account you have registered with or get a ea subscription code i think from amazon

From all the info on Amazon of the EA Access subscription card you still need a valid credit card on file to redeem the EA Access code
