Hey Fellas,

I am not an active member of Pakgamers, But I am here
for some time and love this community. I got most of my tech knowledge from this community and I am very Thankful for this. But for quite some time, I am feeling that this community is not active as its used to be. I know people are moving to other platforms like reddit, facebook, youtube etc. But I feel sad about this community. Is there any way, we can make this community active again just like the old days. As this is the biggest gaming community we have in Pakistan. Let me know what you guys thinks about it...

These stats are quite drastic

people got older . Most people got busy with their real lives and social responsibilities . The new generation is mostly busy on social media or playing games .the only time they come to forum is if they have to sell something or if they face some very huge problem with their hardware .i compare forum situation nowadays with that of mmorpg . Be it wow or any other mmo .you don’t get that feeling of inter connectivity or friendship in mmo that you used to get 5 or 10 years ago

I joined PakGamers when I was pretty young (11 or 12 years) and when people started leaving, I used to wonder "How busy could they be to not even visit once PG once in a while?". Now I'm in university, and I realise how busy one can actually be :p

I own a forum, and what you need is to fire up their members.
About 25% of the people registered show up when written to.

I joined this forum in late 2011 or 2012, that time it was a good active community. I was like 13-14 years of age. There were aged and old people here who are not active right now because of their social and family responsibilities. Few of them passed away. Me too, now, getting busy in the life as I'm graduated and currently on job. Though, I still visit regularly PG whenever I use desktop PC as a silent viewer. (sm1).

I think that pakgamers has not evolved with time. Nowadays, people don't like to spend that much time reading stuff, rather they watch videos and tag them to friends.

What do you mean by written to?
Most forums have an email address list of the email addresses of all members.
So you just tel all your members what is new on your forum and about 25% will take a look.

The best way into stupidity is just that. Watching and clicking is something my 4 year old could do.

With the growth of giants like Facebook and reddit, most of the written discussion has just switched over to there. It's just a better platform I'm afraid, bigger userbase.

One of the reasons that i can think of is not many quality games have been released since quite sometime.

I think people just got tired of juggling several social networks, picked the one most accessible/easy and stuck with it.
Never been active on Pakgamers since Starcraft Wings of Liberty released (and that other thread) it was when the Blog/Diary/whatever segment was taken down that i lost interest in the site completely.
